Pet friendly rooms were not too much extra and came with food/water bowls and a lovely big bed. St. John's is a favourite for me.
St. John's is a favourite for me. I enjoy shopping along Water St. and sampling the many restaurants in the area. It's fun to walk along George St. and stop in for a drink and some local entertainment at O'Reilly's. There are many tour companies that will shuttle you out of town for whale watching and puffin sanctuary tours. I love hiking the North Head Trail on Signal Hill. The views are spectacular and its a good workout that you can do at your own pace. I usually bring some snacks to sit and enjoy along the way. If you have mobility issues, this is not a hike for you.Guest review byLingelbach - 8.0

There were great scenic views and had all the amenities that were needed. We ate at the Buoy and arrow and the fisherman’s landing which had super kind staff and great food. The ice cream at Sweet rock was delicious and it was a nice little ice cream store. Overall Rocky Point is a great place to go to !!Guest review byAnonymous - 10.0
Gander is a very interesting town.
Gander is a very interesting town. It has a lot of aviation history of the early days of flying. It is a scenic town with lovely residential areas. The people are outstanding as you will find if you see the snow Come From Away. A very relaxed place to visit.Guest review byAnonymous - 10.0

Twillingate is a beautiful place to visit with beautiful coastal views, historic buildings, opportunity to see whales and birds, friendly people, hiking, ample places to dine and also close to other communities that offer the same. It's a favorite place to travel often.Guest review byKathyCanada - 8.0
Location of hotel was great.
Location of hotel was great. Cruise ships pull into downtown area busy. The parking is hard to know if you pay or not because the meters are all broken and even the restauraunt did not know if I have to pay. I came back to a bylaws officer writing me up for 100 dollar ticket . I told him there is no meter where I parked he said the spot was for cruise ship shuttle bus. I discussed this with him and I thanked him for a warning only. I came back 1 hour later to find the spot now had a sign cruise ship shuttle parking.Guest review byTonyCanada - 10.0
Such a beautiful area! So much to see.
Such a beautiful area! So much to see. We visited Elliston to view the Puffins & were not disappointed. They are so cute! The walk to the viewing site was a bit of a hike but I use a cane & succeeded with the kind & spontaneously offered help from fellow travellers. We met Wilbur Hobbs, a local shop owner/artist/sculptor & bought a gorgeous, intricately carved moose carving. The Bonavista lighthouse was a walk down history lane with a very informative guide. The views were spectacular & had the added bonus of Puffins. We drove to Trinity a village well worth the visit with beautifully coloured houses, several shops & a great restaurant. This was just a fraction of the attractions but alas time was limited.Guest review byRosemarieCanada - 8.0
Two minute drive from ferry. Very friendly folk.
Two minute drive from ferry. Very friendly folk. We stayed at Hotel Port Aux Basque and we would stay there again. We didn’t spend much time driving around. We only stayed for the night before continuing our journey up north. The hotel was within walking distance to Irving and a Tim Hortons, as well as a convenience store a little up the road. There was also a Foodland in the area which we did not visit.Guest review byAmy-JoCanada - 6.0

GFW is a useful stopping point when crossing the island, we were reasonably lucky with the weather, if it had been raining we would of struggled to fill the days. as with much of NL I would pass by if we had not previously read the reviews, we found good pizza at Leftys and also an Indian near the mallsGuest review byAndyM - 10.0
What a gem! We loved Norris Point.
What a gem! We loved Norris Point. It's tiny but just large enough for a waterside pub, a boat tour launch point, and an adventure company with kayaks for rent. You can easily pop over to Woody Point or Rocky Harbour or explore Gros Morne from this lovely town.Guest review byTaraCanada - 10.0

Stephenville Days Inn was a great place to stay and relax after a long trip. We enjoyed our stay and would definitely go there again; made for an easy drive to the ferry in Port-aux-Basques the next day.Guest review byDebraCanada
