Staff super helpful and responsive! Loved taking out the complimentary bikes, paddleboard and canoe for spins around town and water exploring. Breakfast on rooftop was an amazing way to start the day, and sunset views at night on dock were the best way to start an evening of fun or relaxation. Would book this property again!

Hôtel was clean and room was spacious. Hot water was quick and wifi was fast. The hotel is located near the airport but the flights weren’t at any time that would affect your sleep. I didn’t hear any flights after 5pm or before 8am. The room has a sink, fridge, aircon and wifi is quick. Our booking accidentally didn’t go through and the staff on hand were so accommodating to get everything finalised. About 1.5km to the spit - this wasn’t an issue for me, but just in case you weren’t as physically able it would be an issue.

Nice little island near Belize City, with many hotels and resorts, many good restaurants serving fresh seafood, especially Conch.and fish... I took a tour for US$50, snorkeling and swimming with the sharks!!! My new resort has a pool and a private beach. I plan to take a private taxi and tour the whole island... very windy in the afternoons.

I love the restaurant Celebrity it's close to the Belize Museum on Regent street which was a former prison. The food is excellent. It's very easy to get around Belize city by taxi. We paid a taxi 10 BZ dollars to take us from the bus terminal to the Museum that's about 5 US. I called the chauffeur later on in the afternoon to take us to town and we were dropped at the park in the center of town. We walked around the park and sat on a chair under a tree, we visited the inner stores on Albert street. What I like about Belize, there are restrooms every where and the people are friendly. You can ask them anything they will help you out. We walked on the market on Saturday, got some hot bread by the bakery and coffee next door. I loved Altun Ha. Our guide was arranged by the guesthouse Casa de Shangri-La.

Ya GOTTA LOVE the tropical weather, you can't beat the longest barrier reef in the Northern Hemisphere, and that's the best diving I've experienced in several decades. This was my first visit to Ambergris Caye, & San Pedro - what was initially surprising to me very quickly became one of my favorite things about the location. Many oceanview beachfront houses are not resorts, isolated from local residents. You are right in the mix with neighbors: locals going about their daily business (non-tourist and tourist alike), schoolkids walking by, deliveries, construction happening, etc. I enjoy living like a local (sorta), although some folks might not. San Pedro beaches skew commercial/industrial: numerous docks; dock-restaurants; beach cafe; van, taxi and golf-cart traffic on the beach; sand parking lots; powerlines; & sargasso weed extending out up to 50 yds out from shore - it takes a moment to get used to, this ain't Zona Hotel in Cancun. Many hotels & resorts loom over off-beach buildings behind it, which mostly are the typical tropical unfinished, mildewy concrete buildings with rusty rebar poking out, lots of laundry lines, and rusted car parts and tools in the yard. I found this familiar and charming but some may not.

Crooked Tree is very small with rather rutted dirt roads but that is part of its charm. We loved eating at Carries Cafe which is only open Wed. -Sun and consists of a kitchen located in a garage with one table. The food was great. We had an absolutely wonderful time during our stay at Belize Resort and Spa! My husband and I came Labor Day weekend for a baby moon trip. To begin, Melanie was a sweetheart! She answered all of my questions quickly and helped us arrange everything we wanted to do, including airport transportation, local shopping, and the spa. The food was DELICIOUS and the plates had large portions. We even got to bring our dessert back to our room to relax and enjoy. The only other thing we wished we could have done was a tour or two, however being late into my pregnancy, this trip was more for relaxation. We enjoyed the couples mud massage which was relaxing and unique. We have so many pictures from our spa day. The pool was relaxing and made for a great backdrop for pictures as well. The room was clean and gave us an authentic feel during our stay in Belize. We will definitely visit again, making room to enjoy the tours next go around. Travel Tip: Don’t forget your bug spray! It is a jungle resort and the mosquitoes are merciless without it.

If you like physical activity--tubing, hiking--this a a great place for you to go.Belize is somehow in transition. They have "tourist-cized" many of their natural wonders into "fun" events, but they have not focused on the history. The city seems to cater to the cruise ships, a pretty awful entity, but one that can pay the bills. I had the feeling much of what I saw was a facade. This diverse country is irrevocably beautiful but, to me, it has been "Kardashianed" or is somewhere on the road to having that done to it. This is unwise, but it is what we have in this world right now. The people are beautiful, even the unscrupulous cab drivers and one young "guard" at the ferry terminal. I liked the country, but I will not return.

Birdwatching is nice at the lagoon but overall, we were a bit disappointed. Crooked Tree is supposed to be one of the hotspots for bird watchers, we saw a greater variety of birds in all the other places we stayed in Belize. We found Crooked Tree a bit depressing. There are no shops, no restaurants, only dirt roads and other than the lagoon, nothing to see or do. It's not a beautiful place. It's not worth staying more than two days.
