Abomey feel a bit like a tourist trap for Benin standards.
Abomey feel a bit like a tourist trap for Benin standards. The palaces are closed for renovation, including apparently some of the private palaces. Otherwise, there is not much here. And, as compared to other villages in Benin, the people here call you "Blanche" a lot. In other areas, they would respectfully greet you. Not a big problem, they are still friendly, but it shows that tourism ( and probably mostly tours) is stronger here.Guest review byStefanGermany
