An amazing stay at **Fer Hotel Istanbul**. The staff were absolutely wonderful – especially **Faruk from guest relations** and the reception team. Also, the buffet staff were all amazing (sorry I couldn’t remember all the names, but each one of them was so kind and helpful). We were even given a **free upgrade** from a double room to a **mini suite deluxe** as a surprise for our wedding anniversary, which made our stay extra special. * **Room:** 10/10 – very comfortable and clean. * **Location:** 10/10 – perfect, close to the Grand Bazaar, Sultanahmet, and the metro station. * **Staff:** Very friendly, professional, and they all speak good English, which was very helpful. Overall, it was an **amazing stay** and we would definitely love to come back again!

You can’t go in Istanbul without going to the grand bazar, it’s emblematic and good shopping as gold, cloths, scarfs, food, bags, shoes , leather coats and much much more 🫶🏻 can’t wait to go back again.

I was last in Istanbul and at the Grand Bazaar 30 years ago, and while I really enjoyed my recent visit to Istanbul - a photogenic, fascinating city - I was disappointed in the Grand Bazaar which was offering the same items as almost every other tourist shopping outlet and street-side shopping stall. Perhaps the prices are lower in the Bazaar to draw the crowds, but I was left feeling that I was seeing ‘more of the same’. The interior architecture of the building is interesting.

Be prepared for "chaos" this was not an enjoyable experience, I felt that I was consistently being "bullied" into a purchase from anywhere I looked. The market is vast so be prepared to find yourself looking for a familiar exit or entrance. I suggest you go with a guide.

Historical & busy bazar but beautiful bazar with lots of variety of accessories & jewelry. I saw people haggling to get discounts. Very hospitable shopkeepers! We were served with differnt delicious teas like apple tea, ginger tea, & pomegranate tea. Along with dry fruits & deserts. I enjoyed shopping there. Great place to visit! Prces were a bit better in Taksim square area. Must try Amazing deserts at Hafiz Mustafa shops.

Great place to visit and make some deals 🤣.

Great place to visit and make some deals 🤣. Do not dress expensive, unless you are buying expensive pieces of gold. Dress modestly, since the sellers look at you and form their prices accordingly. The first price is always too high, you have to bargain. Put a price lower than your final price and meet in the middle. Always apologize in a way that you do not want to offend him, but you respectfully give him you price. You are often invited to the shop to sit and drink tea, do not feel obliged to buy smtg although you drank the tea. Also, they are presenting you the goods (jackets, coats etc), usually you can not go through the staff by yourself. If you are buying gold, mind the clarity. It's usually 14 K (75% gold), while in other Europan countries it's 24K (99,9%), that's the reason why it seems cheaper...

Extremely touristy but MUST visit once in a life time. I have visited multiple times and really never tire of the shops. No need to buy stuff. Extremely rude salesmen here. Thugs also. But safe as tourist police is everywhere.

Mehmet, Ibrahim & Weysel were very kind & helpful. They suggested places for food, entertainment & walks. The hotel is in a key location as it is close to the bus station, metro, boats, tram and right next to the grand bazaar. The cleanliness exceeded our expectations. We definitely recommend it and will of course we will return. Our choice was very good.

The property is located 5 min walk from the blue mosque and 7 min from hagia Sofia. 15 min from the grand bazaar. 17 min from the archeological museums. The property is an above a shop. The two bedroom place does not have a jacuzzi. That’s for the studio apartment alone. It has ample space. Recently decorated. Clean. All amenities in the kitchen area. Lovely shower toilet. The host met us but he spoke hardly any English.

I stayed here for 5 nights in August. The location is perfect, very close to Sultanahmet tram stop. Walking distance to the Blue Mosque, Aya Sofiya Mosque, both Egyptian and Grand Bazaars. A special mention to Aziz and Gokhan for being so hospitable and making our stay extremely comfortable and enjoyable. The room itself was so pretty and clean. The breakfast every morning was delicious! Hotel itself was very quiet, can’t hear any traffic at all. Will definitely rebook next time I visit Istanbul. Thank you for everything!

Grand Bazar is just for visiting not for shopping as costs are higher here. The funny thing is that everything is about negotiation in shops or on the streets. You will have a big surprise that the final price you are paying it is with 30% - 50% less. I.e. Turkish yoyo on the street is 5TL but if you offer 2.5 TL you're gone have it :) Good look.

  • The atmosphere.

The atmosphere. You can find most of these things in other places but not in market places with such heady atmosphere as in Istanbul. It is an experience to spend time in Grand Bazaar even if you buy nothing. Shopping areas in India, my country, are equally interesting but they tend to be dirty and full of traps like potholes and overflowing drains. Istanbul has the atmosphere without these problems. The place we liked most was Arasta Bazaar near the Blue Mosque.
