During the nights there are no lights around, so you can see the clear sky with millions of stars. It is marvelous! Breakfasts are great - variety of different options including the chocolate fondue (kids were amazed).

Its out of the way, its safe for kids, there are nature walks right next to where you're staying. The place was spotless, furniture was comfy and very inviting. The old addage of you dont holiday to stay in your hotel is applicable but where you are tired and in need of just a couch day, this place absolutely fits the bill. Privacy was good, you have neighbours but you're not watching their tv and listening to their music by proximity. Lots of animals doing the rounds also, we saw white rabbits bouncing around the snow and reindeer on the nature trails. The host was very obliging and despite my ludicrously early check in request still managed to cater for me and the two kids on very short notice. The host was also very obliging in offering us additional resources where we needed them and also on very short notice. Its also off the beaten track yet close to the airport. A very well balanced combination.

Great location in the middle of the woods, cosy, very comfortable, sauna. Great bed. Very nice place. Nice big window with view on the forest. Very peaceful. Wish we could stay longer. Everything was perfect.

So, it is a great location. We tried two trails around, one goes at high altitude and heavy, but worth the view! + Showers and yurts are warm despite -18 outside

Located on the private island of Vartiosaari in Rovaniemi, Aino Private Island Hotel is an adults-only boutique retreat offering a quiet and highly personal stay just 10 minutes from central Rovaniemi... Absolutely divine! This hotel is beyond words. Located on a private island, it created a perfect winter wonderland (we stayed in February) with a calm, pristine, and unique landscape by the frozen river. The staff were incredible—even before our arrival, they helped us book activities, making the experience completely hassle-free. The food was a true culinary experience—the bespoke three-course menu was absolutely marvelous, and breakfast offered a vast selection, including homemade vegan options. We probably ate the best bread of our lives here! Our stay was simply perfect. Plus, the hotel is being renovated to become an adults-only retreat, and we can’t wait to visit again in summer!

Recommended at 200%! Beautiful villa, sauna and jacuzzi and the fireplace make from this place a heaven! The owner are very helpful and welcoming. We had a such a great time in here that we were sad to leave!

The attention to detail is outstanding—everything is prepared with the highest level of care, from the cozy interiors to the beautiful outdoor lighting. The sauna cabin and hot tub add to the amazing experience. Our children also had a great time using the winter equipment provided. Check-in and check-out were seamless, and the place was spotless. Highly recommended for a perfect getaway!
