It is known for its beautiful beaches, an Olympic-size swimming pool and many restaurants. Margate beach has lifeguards as well as shark nets and is safe for swimming. This well maintained complex has 24 hour security, swimming pool as well as communal braai facilities. There is a tandem lock up garage. There is a spacious open plan lounge kitchen and dining room with a built in bar. The open plan living area leads out to a spacious patio where there is the gas braai just waiting for your first barbecue. Margate is a very popular resort town that has been a major drawcard to the South Coast for many decades. It boasts great beaches with lifeguards, shark nets and is suitable for swimming. The main beach has an African craft market. The vendors will love to show you their range of carvings, curios, and other interesting items. Manaba Beach is the seaside village on the South Coast that overlaps Uvongo and Margate. It extends from Lucien Beach to Uvongo. Lucien Beach is popular beach on the north end of Margate Beach. It has shark nets as well as lifeguards which makes swimming safe.  A short walk down the beach will bring you to the Margate main beach. Other attractions include numerous pools that stretch from Uvongo Beach to Lucien Beach and the fishing pier on the edge of the beach. Lillie Crona Avenue is a 2.5km stretch of road along the rocks between these two beaches which is abuzz with walkers, joggers, and cyclists every morning and evening. Uvongo is probably most famous for its picturesque waterfall that plunges into a lovely little lagoon.  Paddle boats and also canoes are for hire on the lagoon. Curios are available to buy or admire from the local craft market on the beach. Ramsgate is nearby where the famous Waffle house is found and Blue Lagoon Beach. The Blue Lagoon also has lifeguards, shark nets and is safe for swimming. There are paddle boats as well as canoes for hire Oribi Gorge, which is less than 50km away, has the longest zip line in Africa as well as hiking and mountain biking trails and white water rafting.
