This hotel is set on a farm within the Golden Circle Region, 15 minutes’ drive from Gulfoss Waterfall and Geysir hot water springs. It offers horse riding during the summer season, traditional cooking and a geothermal outdoor hot tub. At Farmhotel Efstidalur, the rooms comes with a private bathroom and a hairdryer. In Efstidalur you will get a unique and different experience. Right in the middle of the Golden Circle, you get a glance of the farmlife in Iceland. This familyfarm has opened up for tourists and offers a variety of products straight from the farm, such as the famous icecream, skyr and feta cheese. The restaurant also offers beef from the farm and other local food.
Efstidalur II is run by four siblings and their families. We recently took over the business from our parents that started and developed the concept with us as it is today. We are the 7th generation living on the property but our family has been living on Efstidalur II since around 1750. We are dairy farmers first and foremost, but since 2002 the business has developed with increased tourism in the area. In 2013 we opened the restaurant and café and began to make our own products from our milk that we offer our guest to taste and enjoy.
The local area is very scenic, lots of good views over the valley, the lake and of course the Golden circle! Great place to experience the northern lights
