Welcome to the Village Rooms. The building was built in 1912 by my grandfather and it contains a working pub with beer garden and off-license. We renovated the living space in 2016/17 and created what we think are 3 beautiful and individual living areas. If you are looking for a traditional Irish pub experience then look no further you will be sure to get a Cead Mile Failte from our friendly staff as well as the locals over the best pint of Guinness in the north east before you retire to your room for a well earned break away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life.
We look forward to welcoming you to The Village Rooms and introducing you to the local area. If you have any questions about what you may like to do please let us know and we will respond with suggestions for your consideration.
We are located 10 km from Dundalk town centre in a small rural village, 5km from the seaside town of Blackrock and about 40 min drive to the medieval town of Carlingford. We are close to the wonderful Slieve Gullion (20 min drive) with its nature trails and fun child park we are an excellent base for hiking on the Cooley/Mourne mountain ranges. Within the local area we have the beautiful Stephenstown Pond amenity area with coffee shop and also Cu Chulainn Stone the last stand of the mythological hero. Stephenstown Pond is a beautiful amenity offering an easy morning stroll with a coffee and light bites before you settle into a day exploring the Ancient East. Other places of interest, Roche Castle built by the De Verdun family in 1236, 8km. Proleek Dolmen on the grounds of Ballmascanlon House , 14km, and of course Newgrange (Bru na Boinne) UNESCO world Heritage Site 40km/30min drive away.
