Welcome to Sheelin Shepherds Hut. A cosy bespoke cabin situated on our family dairy farm, overlooking Lough Sheelin and approximately 1 hour from Dublin airport. We are located a 10-minute walk from the shores, and nearby to Crover House Hotel and Golf Course. The perfect escape, it is equipped with a small kitchenette, Wifi, Netflix and underfloor heating. The hut has its own private hot tub. Strictly no fake tan makeup or smoking in the tub! The hot tub is available from 1st April to 1st November We aim to delight our guests by providing a space, suited to both wedding guests and short escapes. We look forward to having you stay.

I live on a family dairy farm in Co Cavan. We milk about 100cows and have a BnB less than a mile from the shores of Lough Sheelin. Professionally my career has been in engineering, where I managed Civils projects across Scotland and Real estate developments in San Franciso. Living the dream. I enjoy spending my winters working in the Alps, along with travelling the globe when possible.

Located in the heart of Ireland, we are surrounded by lakes, woodlands and medilic tombs. Lough Sheelin is an internationally acclaimed trout lake and provides some great fishing. Trails around the shore lead up to Crover House hotel, bar and restaurant. The Hotel also hosts a 9 hole golf course. Heading in the other direction and still overlooking Lough Sheelin, Mullaghmeen forest park, covering over a 1,000 acres is the largest in Western Europe. The medilic tombs, just outside of Oldcastle provide you with 360 views from the highest point in the Boyne valley. There is a coffee shop at the bottom of the walk and Lough crew gardens are located just the other side of the hill.
