Firstly; I would like to take a moment to introduce you to myself (Steve) and Jenny my wife. Jenny and I are the owners of the Glantaff Inn & bunk house. The Bunk House sleeps upto 6 people (sole occupancy) with 2 private shower rooms and is situated above the pub on the River Taff with its own separate entrance and private bike store, which is a 3 minute walk to the Taff Trail. The Glantaff Inn is a family run business and we pride ourselves on its friendly, warm and inviting atmosphere. It has been a Public House since the 1800, a place where you can enjoy a pint of Real Ale, Fine Wine and good food whilst sitting in front of the open log fire or enjoying the sunset on our newly erected Sun Terrace. Its the perfect location for both cyclists and ramblers with Bike Park Wales being just a short drive away and we are surrounded by many beautiful walking routes. Cardiff City Centre is just a 20 mile drive for a great shopping or sporting event experience and the beautiful Gower Peninsula only a 40 minute journey. We know once you have visited us you will will want to return time and time again, due to the fabulous central location in the heart of the Welsh Valleys
A little bit of history: - We (myself Steve and wife Jenny) purchased the Glantaff Inn 3 years ago in 2017, we have renovated the pub to the high standard that it is today. The pub has a number of regular customers who would love to tell you about the area and regale stories from over the years. The landlord “Andrew” is an ex miner, he has many a story to tell and will also be on hand to help you with any directions. If you would like to reserve a table for a tasty meal please let us know, however we do operate a “walk in” system as well., however the pub can get busy for meals at certain times.
The bunkhouse was created in early 2020 just before the national lockdown due to Covid 19, however we utilised this time to complete the refurbishment and hopefully you will enjoy what we have achieved. Any visitors needing a guided walking tour or cycle routes please ask as these can be arranged.
Perfect location for both cyclists and ramblers with Bike Park Wales 7 miles away and many walks nearby. The village of Quakers Yard is easily accessible by road or rail, it is steeped in history and takes its name from the original Quakers Burial ground set up by William Howe in 1665. The property is a 5 minute drive off the A470 and a 20 minute from Cardiff and 35 minutes from Brecon Beacons. The bunkhouse is located on the River Taff and is a few minutes walk to the Taff Trail. We have listed a number of areas of interest in a booklet placed in the Bunkhouse which we hope you will have time to visit during your stay or future stays. for example
