The host was amazing and so considerate I even got my own room as the place was quiet and he constantly checked in on my stay

Surrounded by a large garden, Youthhostel Lugano features an outdoor pool with deckchairs and sunshades, as well as children’s playground and volleyball, badminton and table tennis facilities. The staff is super welcoming, the rooms and furnishing are quite new, and all is very clean! Also check out the whole garden and pool, it‘s all very beautiful and you can relax very well!

The Hotel&Hostel Montarina occupies a historic Villa built around 1860, only 200 metres from the Lugano train station. The room location and facilities were exceptional. I have to add that I booked a single room and therefore was moved to the neighboring Continental Park Hotel. So just something to take into account.

Surrounded by a lush garden, the Youth Hostel Locarno is 1.5 km away from the train station and the Lake Maggiore. i had to check in late due to a late night train, but the staffs were super helpful in ensuring that i manage to check in by myself. got a shared dorm all by myself and i thought the staffs were very considerate because i was pretty worried that i would wake the roommate during late night if i had one.

The simplicity of check in using codes to enter the house and room. The rooms are newly renovated (Aug 2025) with an excellent bed and shower/bathroom. Loved my stay. Highlight was having supper in the villages Restaurant Osteria Salzi (village square). Would recommend both to anyone hiking through on the Strada Alta and the Trans Swiss Route (Nr 2).

Set in the historical city centre of Bellinzona, Youth Hostel Bellinzona is just 500 metres from The Three Castles of Bellinzona, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The hostel serves a buffet breakfast. Thank you very much, I had a wonderful stay at the hostel! The atmosphere was warm and welcoming, with friendly staff and fellow travelers from all over the world. The rooms were clean and comfortable, and the common areas were perfect for relaxing or meeting new people. The location was convenient, close to public transport and local attractions. Overall, it was a cozy, affordable, and memorable experience — I’d definitely stay here again!
