I really liked the extra touches and thought that has gone into making the room comfortable. You can also sit on the balcony which overlooks the canal. The location is excellent - five minutes from both the ferry port and bus station. Run by Mum and two sons who are warm and helpful.

Staff is very welcoming and helpful, they even booked a train ticket for me. Breakfast was amazing, with mainly Indian/Kerala dishes. Lots of activities for kids, nice (small) swimming pool and a tower with a lovely view. The whole property with the garden is very well maintained

Our stay in Monroe Island was one of the highlights of our three weeks in India and definitely some of the best food we ate on our trip (cooked by Vijeesh’s very talented sister and mum) During our stay we done a sunrise and sunset canoe tour with Vijeesh both were fantastic and we felt very safe throughout. Vijeesh as a host was very knowledgeable, helpful and funny and we felt very welcomed by the family as soon as we arrived. Vijeesh and his family have made something really special with this homestay and I would 100% recommend to anyone.
