Staff were ready to help at a moment’s notice and ready to fix anything for me. They helped book affordable transport and outings to Pidurangala rock and Minneriya Park. They weren’t upset when I said the WiFi wasn’t fast enough or the eggs were too salty— they helped me fix the problems immediately and I had fast WiFi and tasty eggs! Gihan and his wife truly care for all of their guests, looking after their wellbeing and also allowing for independence and privacy. It felt to nice to be well cared for, especially when traveling alone. Gihan can help arrange tours and activities and will take you himself in his Tuk Tuk when available. They have bikes for hire and I enjoyed riding all around Anuradhapura a couple of times. Their food is amazing! In the past they owned a restaurant and it shows. A huge variety and the best food I’ve had in Sri Lanka. I am gluten intolerant and they were very accommodating to my diet. You can tell they care a lot about their business, investing in it and caring for their clients. Extend your stay, you won’t regret it. There’s much to see In Anuradhapura and you’ll not want to leave Corner Cottage.

Beautifully restored villa with three lovely guest rooms. The owner has used his artistic skills to make this one of the most enchanting boutique property anywhere. The breakfasts were delicious and the location is a short tuk tuk ride to the lake, downtown and nearby restaurants. Even comes with a small pool to cool off in on those hot days. Highly recommended!

Less than a 5-minute drive from the city center, this hotel is nestled on a vast plain, creating a tranquil escape. Its location is convenient for Sigiriya (approximately a 30-minute drive), downtown Dambulla, and the cave temples. The room was comfortable, the amenities worked flawlessly, the garden setting was delightful, and the staff were warm and attentive. The breakfast was delicious and highly recommended! For such a reasonable price, with such a good accommodation and breakfast, and a prime location, it's truly excellent!
