Stayed for a couple of days and nights. The room my partner and I stayed in was a good size for the two of us, also had a sink just outside of the room to brush our teeth, which was great and a window to look out at the mountains. Bus stop right outside for easy transport to and from the shops. 10 min walk to the train station as well. Best part of the whole stay was the two incredible hosts. Even with the slight language barrier, they made us feel at home, helped if we needed it, made sure we were warm when eating, recommended spots to explore, and even drove us downtown. Can't thank them enough! I'd stay again and recommend them to anyone looking for a place in the area.

An extremely well-equipped and friendly guesthouse with nearby parking available. Beautiful location with a beach only minutes away on foot, and easy to access nearby beaches and towns with a car. Beautiful traditional Japanese room with tatami floor and futons (note that you will have to make your bed which is common in Japan). The room was large with large French-doors and beautiful views. The futon beds were very comfortable. What made the difference was the kindness of the owner; very friendly and welcoming. He spoke good English, which made it easy to communicate. He got a hot bath ready for us, which was much appreciated. We really liked this place. We only wish we stayed longer!

Situated just a 2-minute walk from Shirahama Beach in Shimoda, Beach Side Inn Shirahama is cosy friendly accommodation with warm wooden flooring and furnishings.

The place is very well managed and the hosts were extremely friendly, a good location if you're thinking of staying near shimoda but closer to the beaches. There were also 2 private onsens free of charge that we loved using and the free breakfast was nice as well. There was also free washing machine service provided. Drive slowly to reach the entrance because it's a tiny road
