The check-in was clear, simple, and completely stress-free, which set the tone for a relaxing stay. There’s a warm, authentic atmosphere here, yet it’s kept at the standard of a hotel. On top of that, the location is perfect. Stykkishólmur is such a beautiful little town, with colorful houses, a charming harbor, and a small hilltop offering a lovely viewpoint over the town. An absolutely charming boutique villa! This cozy place had everything we needed for a perfect stay - warm, immaculate, and thoughtfully equipped. Beautiful scenery right outside the window, and the landlord was wonderfully kind. It felt like a home away from home.

Out of all the places we stayed in our 3 weeks away from home, this was our very favorite! Its location was wonderful and a great base for us to explore the peninsula. We hope that when we go to Iceland in the future, we can stay here again. The house was so inviting and comfortable. The beds were incredible! We loved walking around Stykkishólmur; the walk up to the beacon was great and the view breathtaking. We even saw the Northern Lights while there. The host was extremely attentive and responded quickly to any questions we asked. What a find, this house in Stykkishólmur!

Property was on the way to Snaefellsjokull National Park fairly well situated for a first night stop after morning arrival in Reykjavik. No restaurants in immediate area, so either dine as you drive through Borgarnes or some place closer to the park. Beautiful views.
