It is the perfect place if you want to get a relaxing trip with a traditional Japanese onsen. The location is quiet and with perfect picturesque views of the mountains from the onsen. The staff are really nice and accommodating, even though we don't speak japanese. The food is amazing and at the same level of a fine dining restaurant every breakfast and dinner. Special thanks to Chinoki who served us everyday in English and helped us enjoy our meals everyday.

Loved being tucked away from town on the orchard. The apples and apple juice were delicious and the owners were super helpful as we had an injury to deal with (a trip to the hospital), and they even gave the sorry sore one a lift home. Amazing hospitality.
Would definitely recommend. Very comfortable and spacious with all the required appliances

Everything was amazing! Zack did a great job making us all (there were 7 of us) feel welcomed. The living space and kitchen was big enough to allow us all to hang out. Zack put a power outlet in each of the bedrooms to let us plug in all our devices. The showers were great! It really was a great place to stay.

Lovely spacious rooms, helpful kind staff, Meals were well prepared and the afternoon tea on check in was a lovely touch. View from room and outdoor bath was stunning, so special. Staff very helpful when we needed extra help to contact local onsen, they were so kind and called ahead for us so we could keep our booking on very short notice.

Craig was a great host, accommodating to his guests, with great sense of hospitality. The location was perfect in the middle of valley, pretty calm and surrounded by greenery. Breakfast was healthy and energetic. Bonus point (on top of great coffee for coffee lovers 😊), the Lodge offers activities such as rafting, canyoning, etc. through local partners with negotiated rates. Great experience overall, hoping to come back again

MICASA is fantastic. Beautiful property, with really comfy rooms with great views over the river and of the local train line. We were lucky enough that it started snowing just after we arrived, and we had a fantastic view of it from our room. The public and private onsens are both really nice and a good temperature. The food was fantastic. We’re not the biggest fans of kaiseki as it can often be too much food, but the quality and quantity of the food was spot on. The staff are lovely and always willing to help as well. For context, we’ve traveled all over Japan over 14 times now, and MICASA really does stand out from the crowd of Ryokans we’ve visited over the years. Can’t rate MICASA highly enough, and would love to visit again sometime.
