I only ate twice in the hotel restaurant (dinner and lunch) - the food was very good, but not excellent. My toilet wasn't flushing one day as the cistern wasn't filling with water. These things happen. The staff ensured that it was fixed very quickly.”

    “The beachside bungalow (cheapest room available when we booked) really was amazing in terms of location - just steps from the beach. I've seen other reviews about the bungalows being dated - well maybe a couple of bits like tarnished door handles in the bathroom but overall I thought ours (#14) was in great shape! Super comfy cushions on the deck loungers, great having the use of a private spa pool overlooking the sea or up at the starts at night, and thought the overall size was more than adequate. We did have some mosquitoes (more than anywhere else in French Polynesia for some reason) but the staff were great and came and sprayed our room which helped a lot. The deluxe and standard beachside bungalows are all on the beach whilst it looks like the villas were all in land a little bit. Think our beach bungalow was great value! The restaurant was pretty good - the poisson cru was the best we had in all of FP! Breakfast is huge with tons of options - a fav was the tuna carpaccio! The diving in Rangiroa was spectacular and Top Dive was an excellent outfit, with the most comprehensive safety briefings we've had in ages, as well as enthusiastic and attentive dive guides. We will be back!”

Met fantastic people and I really appreciate the owner's intention to give the opportunity for travelers to save up: it is the cheapest place in the entire Polynesia! The location is fantastic ++!! You can make use of the kayaks, enjoy the sunrise and sunset at your doorstep. You need to be prepared in terms of the facilities: The dorm is very very basic ( very, very!). It is a big room with a lot of single beds, no lockers, no windows and there are only 2 bathrooms and toilets that you can use. You can rent a towel and the owner has a contact for Moorea Fun bike if you want to rent a scooter/ bike. The owner was nice to call the company and bring a bike, but when I wanted to change it because the breaks and chain were not good, he asked me for money to pay him for the call. Anyway, it is up to every individual to establish their own level of comfort, but I enjoyed every single day in the paradise! I would go ahead and book it again.”

    “Booked via Booking.com, a free airport transfer was included in the price. We were met at the Airport by Carlos, the owner. The most wonderful host and kindest man you could ever wish to meet, he welcomed us like "old" friends!!! I had made a mistake with the booking and we actually arrived a "day early!" Our room was not ready, understandably - it was only 6am when we arrived. Carlos took us to his home for coffee then invited us to spend the day with him as he had to travel to the other side of the Island to his beach bungalows. We had a perfect day and will treasure the memories we made. The Fare Arearea Studios are well located in a residential area of Papeete, about 5 minutes walk from shops, restaurants and bars. It takes around 15 minutes to walk to the ferry/port. Our air-conditioned apartment was spacious and homely, with everything we could possibly want for our 3 night, pre-cruise stay. The free WiFi was excellent. Breakfast Packs were supplied and included butter, bread, jam, coffee, tea. The shower was hot, toiletries were plentiful along with a good quality hair dryer. A flat screen TV was situated in the lounge area. We had been a little wary after reading reviews regarding the early wake-up calls from roosters! For us it was not a problem, yes we heard them but only after a wonderful night's sleep on a really comfy bed. No matter where you go on the Island wild rooster will greet you! We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and can't thank Carlos enough!!! He is an exceptional man and we wish him and his lovely wife continued success.”

    “Absolutely out of this world!!. We had a premier overwater bungalow with a glass floor to view the water below and a spectacular view of Mt Otemanu! Nothing can prepare you for how blue the water really is. We had our own ladder, off the balcony into the water. The premier bungalows are at the end of the pontoon where the water is quite deep, but still crystal clear. We saw sharks and sting rays off the balcony, where we ate our room service breakfast every morning. The room was very roomy, immaculate and the beds super comfy. The wifi was great and you could pick it up anywhere in the resort. Staff were beyond helpful and couldn't do enough for us. One staff member even offered me her own flower crown when there were no more left. The activities were free, including kayaking and paddle boarding and the turtle sanctuary was a nice extra. There was a great selection of food and drink at the three restaurants. Keep in mind that you do have to make a reservation for each restaurant. We forgot to do this one evening and ended up having to get room service because they were all booked up! Try and join up to the SPG rewards system (which is free) and if you show your card at the restaurants you get 10% off your food. I would definitely recommend getting the free boat transfer to the St Regis (the sister resort) next door and eating at the Lagoon restaurant. It was the best food and service I have ever experienced.”

    “It is a superb place, the Paradise in Earth- The overwater Bungalows are incredible, you can swim when you awake, teh rooms are very romantic. All the hotel is a dream, with a beautiful beach, snorkels and kayaks available to the.guests. Right in front of the beach, a few meters (you can go by kayak or snorkeling) there is a motu where you can swim with sharks and stingrays. The breakfast is amazing and delicious.”

    “We stayed here for our honeymoon in August and we absolutely loved the hotel, it made you feel like it was worth it to spend the money because the customer service, rooms, breakfast, grounds, etc. were all exceptional. It was so beautiful and they made you feel so special! The app was a great thing for ordering room service and random things like shower gel and more pillows to the room. The will bring you whatever you want! We had a lagoon view villa, we recommend at least getting this one as the beach view ones are close in to the beach. Also recommend requesting the sunset side as ours was on the other side. Had a really nice Polynesian massage, recommend this and getting there early to enjoy the plunge pool, sauna etc. Try to book breakfast with your room I think it was expensive if not included and it was really delicious.”
