  “Multilingual Milanese Marina and her Mozambican husband Helder's place is the independent adventure travellers' idea of heaven. It's a tranquil ocean breeze fanned prime beachside oasis, right next door to Odyssea Scuba Dive Centre, where you can pause a moment, watch the bobbing fishing dhows unload their daily catches over a beer or a cocktail, chill and recharge. For me the accommodation was refreshingly simple and in sympathy with the design of the building - I stayed in the waterfront lodge shown on the website which has a hammock strung across the veranda, no aircon but a fan did the job, comfie big bed, crisp clean white sheets, en suite shower and wc - everything you basically need without the 'interior designed' look. The restaurant food was fresh and beautifully cooked. I especially enjoyed the Catch of the Day with lemon butter sauce and savoury rice and for breakfast pancakes with fresh fruit filling, yoghurt and wild honey. Other residents bought fish on the beach and cooked or barbecued it themselves with vegetables from the local market 10 minutes walk away. So with a good choice of dishes on the menu and a fully stocked bar, run by amiable barman Anyway, all at low backpacker prices (1/2 litre bottle of 2M for 80MT for example), what more could an itinerant Scotsman ask for! Trebles all round! Very easy to find an excuse to stay at the Baobab Beach Resort just one more day or maybe ... !”
