The pool was amazing, the property was in a great location- just far enough out of town that it wasn’t too hectic but also we could get into town in less than 5 minutes on a scooter. Franklin picked us up from the ferry for free and brought us to his Hostal. It is a gorgeous property with lush, cared-for greenery and lots of animals- cats, dogs, parrots, pigs, cows and a deer. We felt comfortable asking for anything we needed such as recommendations for eating, reliable scooter companies, and the calling of a tuk tuk. We enjoyed our stay a lot.”

  “Restaurant/bar on site serving cold beers (C$30) and tasty evening meals - all reasonably good value for money given it's a small island (around C$180 for a meal). They have 5 'tipico' dishes each served with variations of rice, beans, tostones, salad: beef, pork, chicken, steamed fish, fried fish. The beef and pork seemed like quite cheap cuts as they were very tough but the sauces served with them were very tasty, unfortunately they didn't have any fish on the evening we ordered it so we went for the pasta dishes - big mistake, best to avoid these less typical dishes! The family are friendly and helpful, especially their son who helped us top up our Nica sims. The hostel is very close to Charco Verde (you can walk there) which makes a nice half day trip. Beautiful friendly dogs live there and there is a nice small pool. Close to the San Jose ferry port (15 mins walk max.) - the owner very kindly drove us there the morning we left in time to catch the 7:20 ferry.”

It is very close to the ferry dock and you can easily walk. Go up the main street for 3 blocks (there is a restaurant La Esquinita Caliente) and turn left. It's about 100m from there.”

  “Lovely family, ended up eating breakfast and dinner there every day. About a 25 minutes walk or short tuk tuk ride from the ferry, sure they'd pick you up if you gave them a time. They gave me a lift to the ferry when I left and fixed me up with a good scooter rental who dropped the scooter off and took me back to Sophie House when I returned it. Nice garden with hammocks and chairs and they paired me with a great guide, Lazaro, for hiking Concepción.”
