  “Mr Phao and specially his family that run the place and restaurant are just the best. The lady makes great food and nothing is too much trouble. The bungalows themselves are great and away from the noisier top half of the island with some of the best views directly on the river. We were supposed to stay 4 days but ended up staying 3 weeks! So just go see for yourself. Also try the papaya salad! :-)”

Rooms are spacious and well-equipped with mosquito net, blankets, etc. At the other side of main pier on Don Det, reaching (especially at night) quite difficult by foot, but motorcycle services are abundant. Location means that you're close to great restaurants in Don Khon, and of course the famous Li Phi falls, but getting to downtown Don Det (for tubing, other tour rentals) will take a while (so, location good for nature lovers). If leaving to Pakse/Cambodia etc., book through Mama and the morning boat off Don Det will stop near the Guesthouse! (instead of having to walk to main pier).”

A fully functional kitchen with all the utensils you may need and basic ingredients too. Martin is the perfect host. Always willing to help (even though he was not in Laos during my stay!!) he kept in touch through social media which was really helpful. The property is away from the main town so very quiet and peaceful. There are restaurants within walking distance and some basic shops too. All in all a thoroughly enjoyable stay. I wouldn’t hesitate to stay here again and highly recommend to others.”

The staff were all very friendly. We wanted to extend our stay but they were all booked out. Highly recommended!”
