If you arrive on the Friday before Shabbat, remember everything starts to close down by 4.00pm so get you supplies in and be ready for the scrum. The access to the light rail to travel the length of Jerusalem is 5 mins from the apartment but that and all public transport stops for Shabbat. If you are planning to fly solo in your visit to Jerusalem, this is definitely the place to stay.”

The hotel is brand new (three weeks old) and is suffering from certain teething problems that they did fix as and when they were pointed out to them. The staff were all very friendly and helpful, especially the manager, Ruth, who did all she could to sort out any problems that arose. The hotel was beautifully furnished with great eye to detail and very well situated for walking into the old city and also for some stunningly renovated private houses nearby. We had a car with us and were able to park it in an underground car park nearly , although the young man at reception was not able to give my son very clear instructions a to how to find the car park as he had not been there himself.”

  “We stayed at Laura's apartment in June and had an absolutely wonderful time. The apartment is perfectly located right on Jaffa Road. The walk to the Jaffa Gate is 15 minutes. The walk to the big city market is five minutes. The building is right at a light rail stop (rail goes to the central bus station and Mt. Herzl) and plenty of buses. It was so easy to get everywhere in the city that we wanted to go. At the bottom of the apartment building is a supermarket and an ATM that could do international cash withdrawal. The apartment is in a central part of town with lots of restaurants and bars and cafés that is lively and full of things to do and see. The apartment itself was terrific. Clean, full of light, with windows facing west to the old city. From the 12 floor we could see the skyline of the old city and the Mount of olives in the distance. The kitchen had everything we needed, washing machine, comfortable bed, Wi-Fi, and a comfortable living room area. Instructions for entering in accessing the apartment when we arrived were detailed and very helpful. We highly recommend!”

The street noise is unavoidable because of the location, but it's quiet on Shabbat. There is also a Shabbat elevator.”
