  “Such a highlight of our time in Guatemala. Beautiful cabin on the lake, free use of kayaks - great spot for swimming. Lovely thoughtful touches inside, including local coffee and a fridge well stocked with water and beer! A lot of people in reviews mentioning the hill you have to walk down. It is a bloody big hill but I think that is the price you pay for lakeside bliss! Also, there is a cut through to the Parque which is a flatter rote into town during the day. Right in the middle of nature so expect lots of animal noises and a few friendly spiders - again, if you want to stay in a beautiful lakeside cabin, you need to expect this! So hard to tear ourselves away from this beautiful view of spectacular Lake Atitlan. Also, the owner was brilliant at communicating before and during our stay and Diego the property manager is always on hand in person for any queries.”

The tuk tuk ride up to the property is advised and a great laugh! The location is idyllic, it fulfils all of your childhood living in a treehouse dreams. Where do I begin with the staff. They were LOVELY! Camilo and Lila cannot do enough for you and are such genuinely lovely people. We did yoga with them in the morning with an unforgettable view of the lake in the background. Breakfast is provided at a low cost and is delicious! The toilet is definitely an adventure! It’s rather rustic but a great way to immerse yourself into the natural surroundings! I would 100% return to this beautiful spot and recommend to all who seek peace and tranquility in San Marcos.”

  “I stayed here for all of the eleven days I was in San Marcos. The staff were helpful and welcoming. I had a room with a private bathroom (you pay a little more for this but it was worth it for me). The free breakfast options are great and tasty. I read some other reviews here about needing more blankets and towels and all I had to do was ask for them. The new owners are working hard to make this an even better place than it is. If I come back to San Marcos I will stay here.”
