  “It was the perfect place for our visit of the area of Tikal. On one hand the Maya sites of Tikal, Uaxactun, Yaxha and other are in a reasonable reach and on the other hand the lodge is situated in a wonderful piece of a privat pristine forest with rich wild life, at the shore of nice lagoon. At breakfast we had spider monkeys, birds and other small mammals in the trees near to the open air restaurant and in the evening colourful sunsets over the lagoon. Their too has been a nice, interesting trail through the forest, where on one leg you can reach a small forest lake with some small crocodiles. A place for natur lovers like we are. Enrico, the owner was in many respects a great help with his knowledge of natur, archeology, the country and natur protecting. We had often interesting discussions. The bungalos were well and practical equipped and everything, what is not always common in Guatemala, was functioning well. The pool was a great pleasure after a long day visiting the Maya sites. Last but not least, Enrico is a great cook and we liked his style of cooking. Dinner was always great. Only a bit bitter point is the small road to reach the lodge but contact Enrico for help. We got it. If there would not be that bloody long flight from Germany, we would go there soon again.”

  “Photos show what a lovely location this is. The lake is lovely and both sunrise & sunset from the waterfront can be spectacular. The restaurant food was good though somewhat limited. The casa is a few minutes (15?) walk from the town but the walk along lake on the mostly flat road was very nice. The town is small but there are a few restaurants, at least 1 ATM & tour offices. The shuttle stop for the airport is on the main road just to the left of the junction of this road marked by a roadside shelter. The rooms are up from the lake but all were tucked into the foliage and had open porches & hammocks. I suppose if any of the other units was occupied by folks with cars it could have been noisy but no cars were parked while I was there. And the owner was very kind and gave me a ride up to the shuttle stop when I left. The staff was all very warm & welcoming. Someone up the road rent nice kayaks - see the signs on the utility poles or ask Ernesto.”
