We had maid service every day which I was not expecting so it was a lovely surprise. Laura, in the rental office, gave us exceptional service with assistance in booking several activities and arranging for a private chef to make us a farewell dinner in the villa. We also loved the security on the property. If you like to watch the sunset, there is a little beach within walking distance that is perfect and the view is gorgeous. Not a swimming beach, but you can get that at the beach club. We will definitely be back.”

“We were welcomed with a smile and left feeling like family. Alexia made sure we were comfortable and went out of her way to ensure we had the best stay. The rooms are spacious, clean and perfect for us - a married couple with a 2yo. There are monkeys, hummingbirds and iguanas immediately in the front garden, not to mention the giant, exotic trees. You about 50m from the beach, although it's not ideal for swimming being close to the estuary. During low tide, shallow pools formed making it ideal for small kids. Only a 5 min walk along the beach and you're close to many restaurants and shops. We hired a golf cart to make travel easier. If you want a quiet and peaceful stay, this is an ideal spot and the service is exceptional.”

“The moment I saw this listing, I was obsessed with the uniqueness and the beauty of the bungalows. I knew that we wanted to go to a beach in Costa Rica and did not want to stay in an all inclusive because it would be too easy to just stay on the property. Finding the Ocho Artisan Bungalows provided the perfect solution. Not only would we be right on the beach, we would be immersed in the Tico culture by walking to the grocery store, going out to eat and going on excursions. After a long day of zip-lining at Arenal and driving 4 hours in a rental car to Tamarindo, Shon welcomed us to Ocho Artisan Bungalows with big hugs, had our bags all brought to our bungalow and showed us around. Seeing this property in person was even more amazing than the pictures revealed but we were exhausted so we went to sleep early. The first morning we were welcomed by the howler monkeys at 5 am. Never before have our kids voluntarily gotten out of bed (especially so early). We all had to see what the commotion was about and to our surprise, they were much smaller than expected by the noise they made! We went for a morning jog on the beach and came back to Shon bringing fresh bread, fruit, coffee and other treats. We were lucky to have 6 nights in this beautiful place. Each day was more special that the day before (and the monkeys never woke us up in the early hours again). We enjoyed getting to know Shon, Mika and their beautiful daughters. Their friendly conversation encouraged all (even a sweet stray cat) to mingle in the pool and outdoor lounge area. We were able to meet many wonderful people staying in the other bungalows and shared our experiences from the day. In the morning, Maria was there with a smile to answer any questions and arrange excursions. It was evident from the staff that they love what they do- they were all amazing.”

“I booked this hotel for 19 nights and was nervous traveling alone for the first time as a young women, but I have never feelt so at home. For starter I don't really think the pictures are making this place justice. It's way nicer in real life. This resident is perfect when it comes to location in Tamarindo, it's just a few meters to the beach and really close to supermarkets, surfing places, stores, party and restaurants. They also have a join kitchen with all the tools you may need. At night they have a closed gate and a guard sitting all night so you can always feel safe. I became close with the amazing staff that always came with a smile and even though we speak different languages always tried to help and meet me halfway. I'm really really grateful and happy I picked this wonderful place and I would definitely go back. Pura vida <3”

Oh, the softest bed sheets so far in 3 weeks! Staff knowledgeable and friendly. Grounds are immaculately kept, swimming pool area is just right for the size of the complex. Location 3-5 minute walk to main crossroad in town, apart from its own restaurant, several very good eateries within 5 minutes walk. Price was + would have been what I wanted to pay. Thank you to Richard + his team, had a great 3 days there.”

“Tamarindo Village Hotel was among the top accommodations we got to know during our two weeks journey through Costa Rica. Our cosy two-storey house featured a jacuzzi, a balcony with a view and an open air-shower. The apartment was tastefully built/furnished, well maintained and very clean. We thought it was nice to stay a bit off the rather touristy side of town, which is in walking-distance anyway. Hassle-free check-in on short notice, excellent service, an amazing breakfast, and the owners were very nice to talk to. Definitely recommended!”

“Everything about this place was great, room was very big, A/C worked great, bed was massive and very comfy. Cleaning service was top notch, room always very clean and smelt great - heaps of towels, they also cleaned most mornings while we ate breakfast. Breakfast was also good, 5 options to pick from each morning. Kitchen is also very well equipped to cook meals to avoid eating out every night. Pool was great, nice little oasis away from the dusty road, often had it to ourselves.”

“We loved the relaxed atmosphere and the trust installed by having an honour bar, where you keep track of the drinks you consume, makes this place feel more like a home than a hotel. The beach area is fantastic and it's easy to laze around all day in all the cosy little areas. The sea isn't really for swimming as it's rocky but great for snorkeling and there are sandy beaches close by anyway. Breakfast is a joy and the fresh juices are fab. You are surrounded by the local wildlife from iguanas and howling monkeys as well as an array of birds. The outdoor bathroom is very cool. Wifi was good throughout the grounds. Tip: the kitchenette we had was usable for cooking although very basic.”
