Miyajima Guesthouse Mikuniya is a traditional Japanese-style guesthouse located on Miyajima (Itsukushima). Highlight of my trip, I wish we stayed 2 nights not just one. Great hospitality and wonderful facilities. Personally the futon was very comfortable since I prefer harder matress. A 15 minute walk from the ferry terminal, very close to the main attractions.

Just a 7-minute walk from Itsukushima Shrine, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Combining modern design with a homely decor, Kikunoya Hotel offers both Western and Japanese-style rooms. Great location, a pleasant 7 minutes walk from Shrine and ropeway. The last 1 minute is uphill but not onerous at all. Staff were very welcoming and attentive. They also spoke English. Amazing indoor and outdoor onsen which we made full use of. Big comfortable room with kettle and TV (YouTube app available). Enjoyed the Japanese meal and breakfast (food plentiful, make sure you arrive extremely hungry). Their slogan is “Your home in Miyajima” and it’s so true. So comfortable and they provide everything including yukatas. You could literally just turn up with a change of underwear and everything else is pretty much available (toothbrush, hairbrush, toner & moisturiser in the onsen bathroom).

ITSUKUSHIMA IROHA is located in Miyajima’s Omotesando Avenue, a 5-minute walk from Itsukushima Shinto Shrine and Miyajima Pier. The place is incredibly well located, the staff is really friendly, the Onsen and Restaurant are also super nice and the room was amazing.

Renewed in 2013, Sakuraya offers affordable Japanese-style rooms with mountain or sea views. Free Wi-Fi is available at the public areas. Miyajima Ferry Terminal is a 3-minute walk away. Skvělá lokalita, krásný pokoj, super onsen, milý personál.

Hotel Miyajima Morinoyado byl po rekonstrukci znovu otevřen v dubnu 2014 a nabízí pohodlné pokoje a prostorné veřejné lázně. Za 1 minutu dojdete k akváriu Miyajima a za 15 minut ke svatyni... Amazing hotel just outside of the crowd. Sleeping was so comfortable. Having an opened window for a night is so enjoyable and rare for Japan.
