Hôtel & Spa Le Bouclier D'or is located in the historic La Petite France district in a 16th Century building, a 5-minute walk from Strasbourg Cathedral. This perfect little haven in the Petite France area of Strasbourg was an ideal base to explore this beautiful historic city. This renovated old building has everything - character, history, vintage furniture and modern facilities. We visited Strasbourg during the Christmas Market and while it was only a few minutes walk to the major market squares and the local restaurants, the immediate vicinity was pretty quiet - almost no vehicle traffic and just a few pedestrians, who mostly seemed to be taking their kids to the school opposite. We only saw one staff member (I’m sure there must be others) but he was very welcoming and informative, giving us good tips on where to go. We loved our room, which was very nicely furnished, but also had plenty of power points, a device charger on the desk and the most fantastic shower.

Lovely common areas including a billard room, library, sauna & laundry facilities. She has bottles of wine & beer that you can purchase for very reasonable prices. Breakfast includes eggs, croissants, baguette, smoked salmon, ham, fruit, yogurt, cereals, juice, coffee, tea, and several jams. It is within a few blocks of the train station in a quiet upscale neighborhood. There is onsite parking. It is about a mile walk into the historic town center, but it is level ground with good sidewalks, so easy walking. Eat dinner in the town center as we couldn’t find any restaurants that were open near the property.

Very great and friendly host, very cozy hotel, the place is really quiet, and the breakfast was fresh and very tasty! And they have such a lovely dog. We would definitely stay here again!

Rooms were comfortable and had portable ac units that made it super comfortable sleeping during the warm night. The staff was friendly and helpful. Breakfast was also nice.
