I loved everything, especially the owners, Pearl and Ranjan. They treated us like their own children—they are truly wonderful people. The breakfast was delicious; Pearl is an amazing cook, and Ranjan joined us for a walk around the area. If we ever return to Matale, this will undoubtedly be our stop again. Thank you for everything. This hotel was so wonderful !! First the place is particularly beautiful, the house has been made with a lot of taste and every detail is perfectly adjusted. (It's even better than the pictures). You are lost in the nature so this is a very good break to relax during the trip. Above all, the couple working there is amazing! They are kind and so helpful. Their food is delicious ! We booked the cooking demonstration and it was a really nice experience :) this hotel was from far the best of our 10 days trip !

I recently had the pleasure of staying at this beautiful, nature-surrounded retreat and honestly, I wish I could have stayed longer. The entire experience was incredibly calming — nestled in the heart of nature, the serenity of the surroundings was just what we needed to unwind. What truly stood out, though, was the staff. Sydney, the General Manager, Kasun the Butler, the Chef and the entire team went above and beyond to accommodate my partner’s dietary restrictions, ensuring every meal was safe, delicious, and thoughtfully prepared. The food was outstanding, fresh, and full of flavour, easily some of the best we’ve had while travelling. Their attention to detail and genuine care made us feel incredibly supported and welcomed. The rooms were spacious, clean, and beautifully designed to blend in with the natural setting. We woke up to the sounds of birds and the rustling of trees — a rare and peaceful experience. If you're looking for a quiet, restorative escape with incredible food and even better hospitality, this is the place. We left feeling refreshed and so grateful — already dreaming of coming back.

The house is located in the jungle, you will be hearing lots of birds and other animals. And there is a small, private, swimming pool, which I really liked in the morning. Also the host is very friendly and supportive.

Our stay at this charming cottage nestled deep in the Knuckles jungle was nothing short of magical. The peaceful setting, surrounded by lush greenery, offered the perfect escape from the hustle and bustle of daily life. A beautiful mountain river, Nikal Oya, runs along the edge of the property—its crystal-clear, ice-cold waters are ideal for a refreshing dip. We learned from the friendly owner that this is the highest altitude in the river suitable for bathing, which made the experience even more special. The hospitality was exceptional. The caretaker, Diviya, went above and beyond to make our stay memorable. She personally guided us to a hidden mountain temple and the stunning Bambarakiri Ella waterfall, leading us through picturesque paddy fields along the way. Riverston Peak is just 9 km from the cottage, and watching the sunset from the mountain was absolutely breathtaking. If you’re looking to unwind, reconnect with nature, and explore some of Sri Lanka’s lesser-known natural wonders, this is the place for you. Public transport is also available nearby, which is a bonus for travelers without a car. We only wish we could have stayed longer. Highly recommended for anyone visiting the Riverston area!
