Amazing architecture, well described and educational museums...
Amazing architecture, well described and educational museums, very nice polite people, pretty decent food and drink. You need about 4 days overall, to get to know the city, and possibly go back to the places you liked best (if that's your thing when you travel - it is for me). However, the religious thing does get a bit tiring, as does the noise level. Best part of town by a long stretch was Santo Antonio depois do Carmo, which is beyond the Pelourinho. A 'must see' city chock full of history reflected in the architecture and the well-preserved churches. The tourism infrastructure is well developed. Be sure to check out the San Antonio de Carmo neighborhood- it is a hidden gem near Pelourinho with lovely Pousadas, restaurants, bars, coffee shops and art spaces in restored historic buildings.Guest review byDawnUnited States
