Featuring free bikes and a garden, Meremeta Lodge is situated in Utende, less than 15 minutes cycle from Mafia Island Diving. Free WiFi is offered. Meremata and the staff were very helpful and attentive, always anticipating what you might need and able to help out with any request apt tasks I had on the island from getting massage to booking plane tickets to getting transport.

Chole Mjini Treehouses Lodge offers unique tree house accommodation on Chole Island in the heart of the Mafia Island Marine Park. The property has a dive centre. An amazing little island with outstanding tree house accommodation. Eco tourism at its finest. Plenty of activities to keep you entertained. Perfect for winding down after doing safari. Definitely worth a visit. The owner has done so much to help the locals which was lovely to see.

With Rufiji Mafia Kilwa Marine Reserve reachable in 6.8 km, Kitu Kiblu offers accommodation, a restaurant, a garden, a terrace and a bar. Some units feature a seating area and/or a balcony. Wonderful team and great facilities! Everyone was so incredibly welcoming, supportive and friendly during our stay, taking the time to visit with us during meals and helping to accommodate our relatively packed time on Mafia. We felt truly at home and only wish we had stayed longer to enjoy the grounds. Upon arrival we were promptly greeted by curious monkeys and saw several elephant shrews as a bonus to our stay. The whale shark excursions that they offer are best on the island (we tried one other operator as well), being not only efficiently run and catering to all demographics, but also very educational and responsibly run by a team that is clearly passionate and informed about the animals. Excellent adventure - thanks for making our time so special :)
