The room was comfortable and clean and they went out of the way to make sure we were warm and cozy…heater in the room, hot water for tea, hot water bottles to warm the beds, and tons of blankets. They transported us wherever we needed to go and made arrangements for our tour to Taquile. The food was yummy and the bed was comfortable. We even had a shower with hot water! I would highly recommend them for a stay on Uros!

We stayed in a beautifully decorated room on the island where Walter's family lives. Walter was incredibly helpful, arranging our arrival (his father picked us up by motorboat). Throughout our stay, the family took great care of us, cooking us delicious meals, and Walter took us on a boat tour of Uros Island, explaining how the islands are built and how the community lives. He then organized a day trip to Taquile Island before we even thought of it ourselves. Walter sells beautiful handicrafts made by his family on the island. Watching the sunrise from the island's observation deck and the breathtaking night sky is an unforgettable experience.

Amassing room , interesting trips , a lot of interesting stories about the community . Very good food!

He arranged a taxi by his friend Yoni for us to bring us to the Puerto. The boat leaving time was flexible to bring us to his Island - as it was Carlos boat, we didn’t have to pay extra. Carlos and his family made nice dinner for us, and also the breakfast was nice. Dinner was only 25 soles extra and a traditional activity tour in the morning around 2hrs was also only 25 soles. As part of the traditional tour, Carlos was driving us around with his boat and greeting the community, he showed us the local kindergarden, school etc. on the islands! We stopped on an island where locals showed us how the islands are restocked, traditional clothes etc. We absolutely loved it! Carlos also speaks pretty good English! It is very interesting what he has to tell. Just as note, it gets very cold at night and very hot at day. For night time they have a heater and many blankets.

Situated in Puno, Titicaca Aruntawi Lodge Peru offers accommodation with views of the lake, and breakfast included every day. The property is 7 km from the city centre, and right in front of Titicaca lake. My friend and I stayed at this lodge for two nights. Only one word to explain the experience: incredible (increíble!). Eddy, our host, arranged everything for us: a taxi picked us up in the centre and dropped us at the port, then Eddy took us to the floating island aboard his little boat. Once there, his mother was standing at the little embarcadero to welcome us despite the late hour; at that point we realized that our stay would shortly turn into an amazing adventure. If you look for genuine relationships and real Uros’ cuisine, made with self-made ingredients plus some of them obtained from the mainland via “barter” (exchange of goods), then this is for you. The 2-hour private tour was lovely and informative about the Uros’ culture and it cost just a little extra. We also rented the kayak for a little workout and tour around the islands, which was kindly offered to us. This is your choice if you wish to spend a few days of relax and adventure on the Titicaca lake.

Its really not that impersonal hotel stay but the real experience in how life is on Uros. Felix did everything to make sure our stay was as beautiful as possible and really made us feel like home. As we arrived super early morning he organized our transport and even let us get to our rooms early to rest a bit before having an amazing local breakfast, prepared by his wife. On sundays he took us to a local community soccer game and we could meet his friends and share a beer with them. if anyone wants to have the real Uros experience staying with Felix is the best choice.
