Our stay at this lodge was nothing short of a fairy tale come to life. We had an absolutely enchanting experience here during our honeymoon! Nestled amidst lush greenery, it was the perfect romantic retreat. Waking up to the gentle symphony of birdsong every morning added a touch of magic to our stay. The villas were beyond excellent – spacious, elegantly designed, and with all the amenities one could wish for. But what truly made our stay exceptional was the warmth and hospitality of the staff. From the moment we arrived, they made us feel like family, going above and beyond to ensure our comfort and satisfaction. After a disappointing experience at another accommodation in the north, we decided to return to this lodge for a few additional nights. And we're so glad we did! The staff welcomed us back with open arms and even upgraded us to another villa at the same price as our initial one. Their generosity and commitment to guest satisfaction truly set them apart. We also want to give a special shoutout to Allen, the cab driver recommended by the lodge. His insights and recommendations transformed each trip around the island into a personalized adventure. Το La Vieille Cheminée βρίσκεται σε ένα αγρόκτημα 200 στρεμμάτων στο Charamel και περιβάλλεται από δύο ποτάμια, αυτόχθονα δέντρα και δάσος. Διαθέτει εξωτερική πισίνα, βεράντα και κήπο. Our family of 4 had a wonderful stay at La Vielle Cheminée. The farm is absolutely beautiful and the view from the swimming pool area is breathtaking. The farm has many different animals but the horses were the highlight of this stay for our children. We stayed at Le Maison du Potager, the lodge was beautifully decorated but most importantly was very spacious and comfortable. The lodge was cleaned daily and the delicious breakfast served every morning at the balcony. The staff was very welcoming , helpful and accomodating of any requests you might have . The location is excellent to explore all the beautiful places at Chamarel. Our only regret was not having the time to explore the farm further. Maybe next time:)

This is one of the most charming places we’ve ever stayed at, with loads of details that we truly appreciated. The layout was perfect. And you don’t even have to step out onto the porch to watch the sunset. We stayed here during our honeymoon to discover Mauritius (after 3 nights at a resort), so having the provided car was also highly appreciated!

The environment is great, “this is it”, I said as soon as I entered the garden. Location convenience, cleanliness, aesthetics, innovation and sincerity are all here. Since I rented a car, this place was very useful. If you do not plan to rent it, you will have a hard time. This is an accommodation in nature with the sounds of birds, but if you are afraid of ants and small insects, it may not be suitable for you. I don't think they are disturbing at all. What you see in the pictures is the same. The host and her family are a bonus. They are very sincere and caring. Car parking is not a problem, it is right next to the house, in the garden. Safe, suitable for single woman travelers. Supermarkets are 10 minutes away by car. I recommend you to have a delicious breakfast on the terrace, do your shopping (including drinking water) before your arrival. I liked the location of the house very much. You can reach Le Morne beach in half an hour and immerse yourself in the waters. Casela Adventure Park is 15 minutes away, La Vallee des Couleurs Nature Park is 45 minutes away (I recommend zipline), and the activities in Chamarel are half an hour away. You can also find great restaurants by the sea 15-20 minutes away.
