The family that runs the hotel is absolutely exceptional. Extremely kind and they treat you like you’re a part of the family. I was really lucky to not have many other people during my stay. The tables in the rooms is a winner for me, not many places have that and I really needed it. The WiFi is really good and I could work with no issues. You’ll need to lay everywhere with cash. The shower in the dorms is interesting, let’s say you’ll have a view right at the nature :) the water in the shower is really refreshing which is actually really good excuse it’s really hot there during the day. the forest area could use some cleaning or more organized wilderness but still awesome place. I was really surprised that there were almost no mosquitos. When you’re there definitely tent the kayak! And omg Marta’s food is freaking amazing!!! Definitely order topas (pricey but delicious!!!)

Exotic, quiet and restful hostel experience in the lake and tropical jungle. Well managed, Swiss-run, with decking, fans, and comfortable bar and restaurant with a good menu. Free kayaks. Dorms with fans. Staff were helpful in organising trips and shuttles.
El Hotelito Perdido is a hidden gem. We loved this place (and the food!) very much and it is a perfect spot at Rio Dulce to relax, enjoy nature or go kayaking. The whole team is super friendly and helpful. The cabins are beautiful - only the fan was hardly enough but that was due to the extremely hot weather:). We will definitely come back!
The Hotelito is a little paradise on earth. The bungalows, but also the simpler rooms are spacious, well ventilated and comfortable. The food is delicious and has absolutely reasonable prices. The staff is amazing, they even organize the tours and shuttles you might need! The common areas are huge, with a lot of hammocks to hang out after a swim in the river. Good to know: The showers run with river water and are a bit salty - but that's not a problem!
We were very nice and warmly welcomed at the apartments. The vide in general was very enjoyable. The pool area is also very lovely. And we got a shuttle the next morning to Rio dulce.
Hotel Kangaroo feels really high-end while being insanely good value for money. The rooms are really comfortable - great size and excellent bed. The food at the restaurant is great - incredible selection of Mexican dishes and other specialties. The setting itself is paradise - a jungle river cabin with a rope swing into warm waters. 10/10 would love to stay again.
The family is amazing. They are all so kind and warmhearted, especially Martha is the good soul of this place. Food tastes outstanding, reasonably priced. You can rent Kayaks and they offer you a boat shuttle service to/from Rio Dulce and Livingston. Felt more like a homestay than a hotel.
Lovely jungle cabin, very peaceful. Cheap boat ride to the town. Took the trip to Livingstone, very enjoyable
Big private cabin, breakfast reasonably priced, short walk from the dock
I loved the atmosphere in this watery jungle and our nature-based hut. I would definitley slepp there again if I would go to Rio Dulce! The staff was very friendly, too. The other guests as well. We got a free kayak and explored the surroundings one day, that was also very nice.
