We loved that you can do safari drives in both the Kruger national park, which is huge, and the Sabi Sands that is more intimate and you can get a little closer to the animals. The staff make this place amazing, all so kind and accommodating. We loved our guide Percy who really went above and beyond on our drives, and Matt who was really accommodating, plus all other staff (too many to mention). The food was great, all meals. The tents are nicer than expected with really comfortable, large beds, air con and a good shower/bathroom. The pool area is also really nice and they are building a second. Overall really great value and the perfect safari experience. We hope to return again!

Lion Sands was an incredible experience! The room we stayed in was like its own private villa with every amenity you could want. The safari drives were amazing, and the staff was what really made our stay special. Our guide Albert and tracker Mishak were the best! They really went above and beyond to make sure we saw every animal possible, and were so knowledgable and fun to be around. Emotion was our waiter the whole time and he always made sure we had everything we wanted! Fortune was also amazing and helped us with our camera rental. Everyone who worked there was so welcoming and professional.

If you do not have your own food or do not want to cook you can use the restaurant of the Kruger Gate Hotel which is in the same spot. We use it both for dinner and breakfast and it was very good!

The stay and experienes at Shalati are simply unforgettable. The design of the hotel is very unique. We are travelling with a kid, hence have to stay at the landside garden suite, but the suite is equally elegant and spacious. The interior is beautiful, the bathroom very spacious. The staff and meals are AMAZING, we attended the Valentine's Day special evening with live performance, it was wonderful! We are greeted in and out from Safaris, which is the best part of the experience at Shalati. We all loved our Safari rides with Michek, he is the best guide ever! Every day its a combination of two exciting Safari trips, and in between the relaxation with good food, hospitality from the staff, fun pools, wildlifes in and surrounding Shalati. The whole experience way exceeded our expectations! We will recommend it to everyone!

All cabins in Sabi Sand Game Reserve

Looking for a cabin?

For the active travellers, a chalet is a great mix of the outdoors and the snug inside. Usually fully furnished and self-catered, chalets are typically wooden and in the Alpine region of Europe, but can also be found elsewhere in the world. Characterised by their sloped roofs, chalets can be single units or separate apartments, and are ideal for skiing holidays.

We were running late but we called and they waited for us! The location is next door to Paul Kruger Gate. The chalet was spacious and well equipped. We even saw some small wildlife in the gardens. Would recommend and will stay here if we come to Kruger again.

This was our 4th stay at Burchells Bush Lodge. The chalets are a little old and worn, but are sparkling clean and well equipped. It is perfect for a family with young children, with a swimming pool and hotel facilities on the same property. It is ideally located for entry to Kruger Park.
