Kandalama Lodge truly is a hidden gem in Dambulla. It's hard to put into words how breathtaking and serene our stay was. We opted for the Villa with a Private Pool, and it was absolutely idyllic. The architecture is exceptional, paying meticulous attention to detail, creating a soothing atmosphere. The staff is exceptionally friendly, dedicated to ensuring our stay was exceptional. A special thanks to Nalin, the General Manager, who looked after everything flawlessly during our stay. He was not only friendly but also easily accessible at any time when needed. The culinary experience was a delightful highlight of our stay, offering both delicious and nutritious options. Credits to the Chef! I highly recommend this place for a relaxing getaway, and there are plenty of outdoor activities to enjoy as well in Dambulla. Thank you, Kandalama Lodge, for an unforgettable experience!

The room is clean and generously sized, and the bathroom is the biggest I've stayed in at Sri Lanka (cold shower only). We had a gecko and frog for company in the bathroom 😊. The host showed us his amazing wood crafting skills around the property. When I was unwell the host gave me painkillers to get better, lent us a knife to cut up fresh fruit, and made us a tea + dessert upon entry. We were so happy with this place, and the location is quiet and a quick drive to Dambulla or Sigiriya

I had a very good time staying at Machcha. Kamal is a great host. :) The bungalow has two rooms with terrace in a beautiful garden. You can hear and see the birds and lay down in a hammock under the trees. The owner makes breakfast with love (fresh fruits, tea, avocado with toast/Roti, smoothie, egg). The location is perfect for exploring Sigiriya Lion Rock or have a day trip to Polonnaruwa. The nature is very nice. ;) Your host can help you with information about tours and what to explore around. It's also easy to connect with other travellers in the hostels around. The rooms are big, clean and very nice. With a big bed and A/C.
