The pictures don't do it justice. We were at the two bedroom house and the view, the furnishing and the decorations were breathtaking! Also there's 2.5 baths instead of 2 as advertised. The location is perfect - about 10 minute walk to the restaurants. However what really made our stay so memorable was the service team. They felt like family and were super responsive to every request on WhatsApp. From restaurant and onsen suggestions to helping us book tables. They sent their own car in a snow storm to rescue us from cortina when all taxis cancelled on us. Words can't describe our appreciation and thank you for making our annual family trip so perfect.

We loved Pension Marionette. The building is incredibly cozy and inviting, they had every facility we needed (baths, ski room, breakfast) and the owner is an absolute sweetheart who will go out of his way to take care of the guests.

The house is very cozy and lovely. Though the style is more Europian, not so Japanese. I felt like I was in the cabin in Austria lol. The host provided all types of kitchenware so you can enjoy cooking. The beds were very comfortable.

Fantastic house with a fantastic host. Chika made us feel welcome even before we arrived. Perfect communication about check-in, arrival, etc. We couldn't have asked for a better host. The house is incredible, with all we needed for sleeping, feeling warm, and for cooking food. We were five people renting the house for skiing in Hakuba. The ski shuttle stops basically outside the door, with easy access to both Happo-one and Goryu/Hakuba47. However, not always a bus available, so some walking may be involved, unless you have your own car. We arrived by bus from Nagano, and even if we didn't have our own car, we managed fine with a combination of bus and walking.

    The chalet is clean and spacious, and very well equipped with a proper gym and large kitchen. Also love the hot bath in the house which keeps warming the water up during a bath. Lots of spaces to hang around in groups. Staff are super helpful and friendly, and always responsive! The chalet itself is at a great location, it also helps that the host offers free shuttle service to almost everywhere. Would definitely recommend!

    The chalet itself was excellent. The facilities were modern and new with all the kitchen amenities you need. It is also located in a great spot that offers panoramic views of the mountains. It is also close to the Hakuba Valley shuttle bus Hakuba stop, which made it easy to get to and from the slopes for skiing. We would recommend this chalet to anyone looking to stay in Hakuba. We will definitely be back.

    This place was fantastic. Mountain cabin in a distinctly Japanese style. It's not especially walkable but Toshi will shuttle you around the valley, including to Happo One ski resort. Just need to take a taxi if you're trying to get back after dinner time. Private onsen was really nice. Toshi and his wife were wonderful hosts, easily recommend.

    The location of the chalet is close to Echoland - a short 5-10 minute walk to cafes, restaurants and bars. It is also nice and close to a shuttle bus stop for Goryu ski resort. The property is wonderful. It was clean, spacious, easy to check in and out of.

    The chalet/cabin was exceptionally comfortable. It was spacious, modern, warm, and had every fitting, utensil and item you could need. It was so thoughtfully designed with high quality finishing, it was luxury! The location was amazing, beautiful views of the ranges and surrounded by rice fields (snow covered for us) - it was so picturesque! Close to shops, restaurants and slopes. And the owners Yoko and Kazu were BEYOND kind and helpful. An absolute must stay! Our favourite of all three weeks (and 6 accommodations) across Japan.
