The owners have decorated with high quality furnishings so that the place feels very classy. We were in Room 1 with a private bathroom. Rooms 2-4 shared a bathroom. We all shared the kitchen and living room spaces. Taieb or Ines came by every day to clean rooms or visit with guests. They left fruits and cakes for guests to share, and the kitchen was well stocked with cutlery, dishes, pots, microwave, electric oven and basic foods (oil, pasta, rice, eggs, spices). We could walk to the Medina and the municipal market easily. Has washing machine; line dry clothes on the balcony. Overall a delightful experience of Tunisian hospitality!

Dar Hamouda is a charming historical dar in the best and liveliest part of the Medina of Tunis. The rooms are beautifully decorated, the bed very comfortable, and the bathroom modern. The hosts (Mrs. Amel and her husband) were wonderful and very helpful. We particularly liked the joint breakfast where you could meet and talk to other guests at the dar. This is always a good opportunity to exchange experiences and meet people when travelling.

The Byzintine room was spotless, very friendly and professional staff. Karim and Mohammed were fantastic, went out of their way in accommodating us for iftar during ramadan when a booking was impossible.

Lovely decor and plenty of bedding and blankets. The owner was very friendly and responded quickly to questions. Good value for money, I’d recommend a stay here.
