We stayed four nights, with day trips to the Gangchon Rail Park, Alpaca World, and Nami Island. This place was recommended by friends and I'm so glad we decided to stay here. John and his wife were really kind and took very good care of us. Rooms were clean and neat. Hot water flowed freely during bathtime and we drank cold water straight from the tap. For the most part, we felt like we were visiting grandparents who kept feeding us. We skipped the Vivaldi Ski Park only to discover Pallbong-san was closed for the winter, but John got us four gimbap, brought us to a nearby service road up a small peak, and sent us on a short hike (that incline!). We still got to muck around in the mud and leaves on the way up. Our sons (9 and 7) enjoyed the outdoors, helping John build campfires, playing with his wife's dog, and generally just running around the property screeching like banshees and dipping into John's store of firewood and kindling as he looked on indulgently (city kids don't get campfires much). The charcoal barbecue most reviews mention was a highlight, as was (for me anyway!!) cooking kimchi ramyeon with actual kimchi in a pot on a stove in a proper pension in the Korean countryside. I saved the receipt from our trip to the mart to buy ingredients too, it's going into my journal. Thank you John and Mrs Lee for your hospitality, we will not forget it. p/s For runners, there's a short out and back - just follow the pavement that starts at one of the roads in front of the property (the road after the tunnel, you'll see when you get there) to the end. A round trip took us about 40+ minutes? We called it 6plus-7km. A pleasant enough route.

Situado a 2,4 km do Sokcho Expo Park, o Sokcho & Guesthouse dispõe de quartos com ar condicionado no Sokcho. Quarto muito grande com TV, cama grande e confortável, aquecedor e ar condicionado, uma escrivaninha e TV com Netflix. Wifi muito bom. Banheiro grande e com shampoo e sabão, o único ponto negativo é que não tem divisória do chuveiro e molha tudo, então precisa tomar cuidado. Também faltou uma toalha de chão para quando sair do banheiro depois do banho. Café da manhã muito bom, com cereal, geleia, pão e ovo cozido. Café não instantâneo gostoso e suco. A anfitriã é muito simpática e prestativa, e nos ajudou em tudo que precisamos, inclusive marcando o ônibus de Seoul para Sokcho, uma vez que estava dando problema com cartão internacional no site deles. Recomendo fortemente essa estadia, fica uns 10-15m andando da estação de ônibus intercity (atenção que tem outra, a express) e a anfitriã te passa todos os detalhes certinho inclusive com fotos. O ônibus pro parque passa quase em frente a estadia também e leva 30m pro parque. Tem muitas lojas de conveniência na proximidade e um microondas que pode usar.

Das ist das Paradies!!! I absolutely love this small boutique villa!!!! So beautiful!! It's just magical to fall asleep and wake up with a view of the garden outside the window!!! There was a high-quality projector in our room, so we were able to enjoy movies and yoga video classes in a well air-conditioned room during hot afternoons. The beach is a stone's throw away. The sea is very clean and calm, and the beach was empty (despite school vacation time). Highly recommended!!! Owners are super kind and ready to speak English.

It was extremely clean! The owners are a family and very accommodating. the location was fantastic. The toiletries were brand name, including shampoo, conditioner, body wash, face wash, hand soap, face products and others. The kitchen was fully stocked. Anything extra that we needed, the owners supplied. The property offered lots of beach equipment to rent for a cheap price. They also had various grills, which the owners set up and cleaned up. Great for families, couples, solo and group travelers.
