The location is nothing short of dreamy, with amazing views of the valley hills just in front. Har has constructed all the houses (I recall around 3-4 now) by himself, you can check on his IG for more detail on how he built them! All of them are really comfortable and unique, following the local architecture, blending with nature and each of them providing a different experience. Har is an expert and consultant on organic farming and produces his own veggies that he uses to cook the most fantastic breakfasts you will ever have, super yummy and different everyday, with the plus of overviewing the views directly from your stay. Don't forget also to order dinner from him, much better than eating anywhere else, every meal was amazing. Har always went the extra mile to make us feel comfortable, showed as around his plantation (he plants to reforest the area with a thousand fruit trees!) and the best: he gave us the best tips on the island, pointing spots that are not even in Google Maps and ready to explore. Think on pristine waterfalls, empty beaches, beautiful local villages, hills, etc. Please visit Har and Sumba before it gets ruined by the evils of mass tourism, and please visit with an open mind, it's raw, wild, authentic, and that's why is missing facilities compared with other destinations, but that what make it so unique and special. Thanks so much Har, we cannot wait to visit you again, cannot wait to see your new creations, houses, farm and forest!

I spent 3 nights at Casa Kandara and would like to have stayed more. It's a really nice peaceful place with friendly and helpful staff, the rooms are cleaned each day and the bed comfortable. The breakfast overlooking rice paddies is excellent and the pool area is nice to read a book or cool down during a hot day. The airport transfer is a bonus too. Thanks Casa Kandara.

Zcela odlehlé místo, bez bazénu, ale u pláže. (Pozor na velké odlivy, přílivy). Jednoduše zajištěné. Obsluha nadstandardní, jídlo nejlepší z pobytu na Sumbě. Pro krátkodobé pobyty ideální. Úžasné procházky po pláži přímo u ubytování. Nádherné noční oblohy s mléčnou dráhou.

LOPE HOMESTAY se nachází v destinaci Ndangu a poskytuje terasu. Na místě je k dispozici soukromé parkoviště. Všechny ubytovací jednotky mají klimatizaci a TV s plochou obrazovkou. Good place to spend the night, ideal for large group of friends and family, if you book the 2 rooms apartment. Very clean.

Lambo Homestay se nachází v Waikabubaku a nabízí zahradu, sdílený lounge, terasu a výhled do zahrady. Celkově koncept velmi zajímavý, člověk sdílí klasický tradiční dům s majitelkou. Rodinný přístup, jedno z nejlepších jídel (snídaně i večeře, které jsme na Sumbě měli. Pokud člověk cestuje autem/motorkou sám bez řidiče, pak není problém s lokací. Domek je bohužel blízko hlavní silnice, takže je z okolí hodně slyšet úplně vše, v noci se budí. Nicméně je to kousek od pláže, kde jsme se zdrželi a potřebovali jsme jen přespat. Personál opravdu milý, příjemný.

Cemara Beachfront Suite se nachází u soukromé pláže Purukambera a nabízí bezplatné parkování a pokoje s výhledem na oceán. The place is just amazing if you wanna get away from the crowd and relax in heaven. They treat you like royalty and make sure you feel home from the first moment. The restaurant is sublime, the beach is on your doorstep and the staff are professionals and yet super sweet and caring. We rented a scooter from them and explored the savanna, waterfalls and traditional villages. On booking breakfast is mentioned to be 13 euro but in reality it is much cheaper. Food is super delicious and very affordable. I hope they start giving cooking classes in future.
