The staff were friendly, welcoming, and communicated clearly with us. We stayed for one night and thoroughly enjoyed our time. The room and bathroom were clean, and the bed was comfortable. We had amazing meals and we made a quick stop on the way to pick up some beers. We wanted for nothing. They also offered (for an extra fee) a ride on a smaller boat through the narrower canals, which we didn’t do, but it was fascinating to see how people live along the water. Tip: bring mosquito repellent – you’ll definitely need it!

Just having a one bedroom private boat makes a huge difference and allows you to unwind. The wonderful chef Sureesh treated us to amazing delights for breakfast lunch and dinner and Prince was an amazing captain taking us to the best spots. No request was too big for them and they made sure we had an amazing experience. We were taken to a fish market which was very pricey - and felt pushed to buy fish/prawns. We did buy a kilo of prawns which Suresh cooked deliciously. However the food provided on board was ample and delicious.

MAHARANI - Beautiful traditional style boat in a peaceful location with local life to view whilst cruising. The ‘Captain’ Manoj and his assistant Geethu together with our chef and Adie who waited on us all day were amazing. We got off the boat and purchased tiger prawns and calamari from the locals en route and our chef cooked these to perfection together with a total ‘banquet’ of delicious local dishes. Nothing was too much trouble for any of the staff. Pure decadence and excellent value. Lastly a huge thank you to Alush M (Front office manager) who organised us from instructions to finding the resort to offering us all the services the resort has to offer and ensuring our stay was perfect. Highly recommend this trip!

The staff was incredibly friendly and accommodating. We thoroughly enjoyed the delicious food and the peaceful atmosphere. It was also really well-organised, incl. transport to and from the hotels. I can definitely recommend staying at Grand Villa houseboat to anyone who seeks some peace and quiet in a beautiful setting, incl. amazing food and welcoming staff!

Floating on the backwaters of Alleppey and Vembanad, Aqua Castle Houseboat ( by Aqua Jumbo Houseboats ) features a 24-hour front desk to assist guests at all hours. The Vessel was really clean and comfortable. Food was very good. Especially the dinner was super tasty.
