Location was perfect, close to everything you need. Owner was so extremely nice. We stayed going through and coming back and she remembered us and asked how things went, very personable. Nice breakfast and although it wasn’t open yet due to time of year, it looks like a wonderful pool to relax around as well. Very quiet, comfortable beds and nice large flatscreen tv! Can also park right in front of your room door! Huge plus!

Stayed for one night travelling between Yellowstone and Yosemite. Didn’t have high hopes but was a great stay! Good value for money, clean and tidy and good location. The Star is great for dinner !

You can get some cereal or fruit and a fresh cup of coffee, for the price you are paying it is a very nice extra. Met the owner in the morning, synpathetic man.

Who you see can be a profound influence upon your opinion of a town. Somehow, my experiences with strangers in Elko have been amazingly positive. While never living there, I've made about 3 dozen trips there; most of them to take seniors to dental or eye care. Whether it was locals or employees at healthcare, casino restaurants ( e.g. Gold Dust West ), or other vendors ( pizza, groceries [ e.g., Smith's ] ), Elko has been a friendly place for me. The mountains are gorgeous & deer wander through the town. The senior center is profoundly & positively involved. If you take the time to explore, they have streets with really interesting well-kept homes; a wide range of architecture ( many appear to be antebellum ). And the town itself has some charmingly "folksy" shops along with the big box stores. Elko is an appealing town.

Perhaps we remember an Elko of the past - say 10 years ago. At that time, it was a friendly, welcoming cow town. Commercial Street was a pleasant stroll day or night. On this trip we went "downtown" to repeat our previous experiences. It was not to be. Things are run down and the dichotomy in politics in America is apparent. Sad.

Liked most was leaving! Liked the least was the room and my $100 deposit not being returned. This motel is scamming people out of their deposits by lying and making up things. Air conditioner didn't work. No toilet paper except half roll. Towels were dirty. No dead bolt on door. Room smelled dirty. Manager never got back to me when I asked for the property manager phone number. Never will I go here again! There is lots of deception going on here. BEWARE

We were driving through on Interstate 80 and Elko is in the middle of Nevada and is the largest town for miles and had the best selection of facililties. We did not gamble nor go into town for food so I cannot comment on anything but our overnight travel stop there, which was fine.

My cousin and his family live in Spring Creek, and I have a friend who also lives in Spring Creek. I just stayed one night in Elko for convenience to have dinner with my friend and the fact I was getting into town when my cousin and everyone was at work and would not really get to visit them that evening, so I just got a motel room for one night, then I stayed with my cousin for two nights. Elko, Spring Creek is a nice area to visit. The Ruby Mountains make for a beautiful drive and good hiking and camping for those who do that. There is interesting history in the area to also scope out. I was passing through Elko on my way to spend time with my son in Fallon.

I like Elko and the rural feel.
I like Elko and the rural feel. It's a real working town, from the employment in mines. People are friendly and no traffic issues. Beautiful museum and park there, lots of restaurants and thrift stores!
