Napier was amazing. Everyone is so friendly. Fabulous to walk around, very safe. Great restaurants, shopping fantastic. Easy to park anywhere. Lovely parks to stroll through. Boardwalk just wonderful to wander up and down Flat, goes on forever. BBQ facilities. Everything was so clean. Information centre, so helpful. Aquarium a place to visit. Watched swimmers, no wetsuits, bit chilly for us to venture into The Pacific.
Hi Lovely place to stay, will be back. So close to the water and near by port with really nice places to eat. Just need some instructions left out on how to operate the 3 remotes that go with the TV. Couldn't get it to work (Just a minor thing).
Exceeded our expectations. Great friendly people, plenty of restaurants and cafes. Lovely, lovely shops. Boardwalk exceptional, easy to walk, bike, run. Plenty of wineries not far from town. Accommodation on the beach, fantastic. Watched Orcas in close to the beach. Aquarium, watched feeding fairy penguins, rays and huge fish. Kids would love it Stayed only 3 nights next year will come for a week.
Great wine and food destination and friendly people in the shops and hotels. The region seems to genuinely welcome visitors and there is plenty to do and explore. Accommodation costs are reasonable as is eating out. Napier has a nice vibe about it. Good places to visit include Elephant Hill, Mission Estate, St Georges, Craggy Range, the Good George pub, and the Duke (in Taradale)
Napier is such a pretty city! So many activities to do - or just walk along the walking paths, in the gardens or see the sites. The Aquarium or the museum are down the road from each other. You can hire a bike and bike along Marine Parade. Lots of eateries from cafes to restaurants. Sunday market is great - beautiful hot food available. Although it was winter when we stayed, the weather was still sunny although a little chill in the air. We watched two young boys park their bikes and run along the rocks with their fishing rods, throw their lines in and park up waiting for their catch! So cool.
The food, shopping and beautiful Art Deco buildings were a highlight of Napier. We visited the Cabana, Napiers olders (maybe NZ's olders) live music venues and saw a great band. The beach was typical of Hawke's Bay with black pebbles. In the morning we visited the lookout over the harbour and across the bay.
