Located 5.4 km from Catania Piazza Duomo, 4.9 km from Roman Theatre of Catania and 5.3 km from Ursino Castle, Esmeralda Il Quadrifoglio Airport Fontanarossa offers accommodation situated in Catania. Our hosts helped us to find the location because it was a little hard to find, but it was perfectly situated within walking distance to the airport for our departure the next morning. The host used a translator to communicate effectively with us, and the room was clean and very comfortable. We thought it was a very good value.

Located in Catania and only 1.9 km from Lido Arcobaleno, Diletta house provides accommodation with garden views, free WiFi and free private parking. Great location. Close to airport and buses going to pretty much all towns in Sicily. Really clean and aesthetic, even more so considering Sicilian standards. Friendly host. Funny location (it's a little home next to a home of an actual Italian family). Rather clean, calm and safe neighbourhood (compared to the rest of Catania). Dilleta itself was also spacious, modern, had bedroom, bathroom and big living room mixed with kitchen. There was also no cockroaches, bedbugs and other insects (unlike in other accomodations in Catania). Really - it's all you need for a few days trip. Definitely worth the price too. Oh and the bed - holy crap. I've never slept in a more comfortable bed. There's also high quality AC in bedroom.

Set in Catania, the recently renovated Prince Airport House features accommodation 1.9 km from Lido Arcobaleno and 6.4 km from Catania Piazza Duomo. Host is very kind, humble, helped with everything I needed. Place is very clean, tidy. There is a small kitchen. Location is great for picking up someone from the airport and spending the night at the accommodation. Or great option to rest before early flight. Airport is about 10 min walk on foot, 2 min by car.

Offering inner courtyard views, Airport Tourist's House is an accommodation located in Catania, 1.9 km from Lido Arcobaleno and 6.3 km from Catania Piazza Duomo. I booked the accommodation because my flight was late and I wanted to stay overnight close to airport to move on on the next day with the train to other place in the middle if the island. The accommodation matched perfectly my purpose. It is close to airport and to the train station. Though close to airport, it was quiet. The owner is very kind and was constantly in contact with me. The accommodation was clean and equipped with everything I needed for the short stay.

Le Dune Sicily Hotel is only 2 km away from the city centre of Catania. It lies in an enchanting place between the golden sand of "de La Plaia" beach and a beautiful small Maritime pine forest. This was our third stay in Sicily.
We had 2 stays in Catania, one for 3 nights at the start of our Sicily leg and one more night at the end when flying out. Catania has a grandness in some parts but 2 nights is plenty time to explore the city before moving on to the smaller towns and beautiful coast in Sicily.
Catania they call it ' the octopus 🐙 of Sicily'. Within an hours drive you can reach wonderful destinations such as: Taormina, Messina, Ragusa, siracusa etc..Would recommend for people who love to explore the South of Italy great point
We were really disappointed of Catania ! It was really dirty and dilapidated. Nothing is well maintened and public transport are bad. A lot of things are abandoned and seems really old. Just one day here is a sufficient time to visit the city. BUT you need to stay one night in the old city. Because, when the night comes, the city becomes really nice and crowded !
Catania is a beautiful city with a rich history, full of interesting places and an amazing atmosphere. However, it is not very clean by European standards - there is garbage almost everywhere, and some of the buildings look rather neglected. On the other hand, I find that to be one of the most fascinating things about Catania: despite these flaws, the city still looks great, and the difference in lifestyle that causes this situation is part of its unique charm. The food was excellent, and if you choose restaurants based on reviews, every dinner becomes an experience. If your budget allows, it’s better to rent a car, as public transport is a disaster (again, by European standards). The buses themselves are fine, though sometimes dirty, but the real issue lies in the schedules and lack of information. Bus stops have no timetables, some buses arrive 30 minutes late or are cancelled altogether, and every day they were rerouted from the main street from 3 p.m. without any information about the new routes. That said, the intercity buses were excellent. I can wholeheartedly recommend a trip to picturesque Taormina or Syracuse - the buses run frequently, are reliable, and the tickets are reasonably priced. Taormina has more beautiful beaches than Catania, but there are also hidden gems to be found along Catania’s coastline. I especially appreciated how the city cares for its citizens, with frequent water faucets and public showers and restrooms at some beaches. If you embrace the city’s atmosphere and its way of life, you will have an amazing trip.
Fabulous place with lots to see and do and the a choice of beach clubs to relax at Lively city but not overpowering Amazing market Bar Doc on the corner of Piazza Duomo is fun and on a weekend the staff do dancing with you and get everyone involved The D bus takes you from Piazza Borsellinni right opposite Piazza Duomo along Via Kennedy which is where all the beach clubs are Gets pretty crowded on the way home but you're on it 10/15 minutes Le Mediterranee was the best with two pools and the beach. Also really comfy seating areas and nice staff. €20 a day Same price as Piramide beach club which isn't that pleasant Alibus is €4 to and from the airport and has a route all round Catania
Like many other places in Sicily Catania is an enigma! It has lots of history, great buildings, squares and pocket gardens - all worth a visit. The botanic garden is a delight! Plenty of shops and of course places to eat. The enigma is that the charm is often lost in the ruggedness of the place! Nevertheless, amongst the traffic and busyness of the city, charm can be found and thus it can be said Catania is a really fascinating place. We enjoyed Catania in the morning (coffee and granita) but the best time is after 9pm when the place is buzzing with people out having meals.
