Featuring garden views, Chosa Manglar Suites & Cabins in Puerto Jiménez features accommodation, a seasonal outdoor swimming pool, a garden, a shared lounge, a terrace and a bar. Situated between the blue waters of the Golfo Dulche, and the green canopies of the Corcovado National park, lies a little piece of paradise... You wake up in the morning to the sound of monkeys, Scarlet Macaws and a variety of other birds. You get up, make yourself a cup of coffee. You step outside, sit down, and let the warm rays of the Costa Rican sun slowly, but gently bring you back from a good long sleep. You shower, get dressed, and make your way through the lush tropical garden and across a small wooden bridge. And just as you get close to the main building of the property, a big, deep and warm voice greet you " Hello Asger, how are you this morning"?. That is the voice of Andrew, the owner of this magnificent place. Him and his lovely wife, are some of the kindest and most welcoming people you will ever meet. And if staying at a tropical place like this, shouldn't be enough to put a smile on you face, their personalities definitely will. I can't recommend this place enough. Whether you stay for a day or a week, this place is bound to have an everlasting impact on you, and make you want to return.... Pura Vida.

The nature and exploration available from PJ as a takeoff point was amazing. Books tours early, or you may not secure a space, take himing boots and shorts and waterproof raingear just in case, and be prepared to rough it a little.
Small town with lots around. Amazing warm bay that we kayaked out into everyday (becuse Cabinas Jimenez provided free use of them) It is calm, swimable and full of fish and marine mammals. We loved the ceviche at several places-Delphines is the favorite. fun vibe there on the water Get your produce at the fresh market at the entrance to town-great selection. Very hot at midday, but mornings and evenings are heavenly.
A wonderful place to explore all kinds of tropical ecosystems. The Gulf, mangroves, forest walks by day and by night. Experienced and friendly bilingual guides who appreciate eco-tourism as a way to conserve the wilderness.
We had the luxury of spending nearly an entire month on the Osa Peninsula of Costa Rica - the first two weeks near Drake Bay and the last two weeks in Puerto Jimenez. If you have to choose one over the other, I would go with Puerto Jimenez, which has several advantages: a full grocery store if you're doing your own cooking, nicer beaches with finer sand as opposed to broken shells and sharp stones and, an airport within walking distance to the town. Both towns are safe and tourist-friendly and offer a wide variety of excursions including access to Corcavado National Park but Puerto Jimenez, with its paved streets and better restaurants is my choice.
Puerto Jiménez is a busy little town. It is very laid back and has a slight 'Wild West' feel about it. The people we met were super friendly and helpful. There's a small airport for light aircraft and a pier where you catch public boats to various destinations. We will go back there again soon!
Puerto Jiménez served as a rest-over before going to, and when coming from a trip to Corcovado Nat'l Park. We were able to take and ride bikes from the hotel to restaurants and to look around (the walkway to the pier was torn up so we had to go the long way around and the bikes came in super handy). The staff was friendly and could answer all our questions.
