Free brewed coffee only is not much of "free breakfast". A little disappointed in that for the $25 fee. As far as I was told, it paid for two bottles of water and coffee.

FAQs about hotels in New Orleans

Getting its Rhythm Back

The home of jazz, intriguing New Orleans evokes images of Louis Armstrong, wrought-iron balconies and mouth-watering Cajun cuisine. Louisiana’s largest city, the Big Easy is the beating heart of the Deep South.

Dance down Bourbon Street, where jazz saxophones ring out of traditional bars mixed with more colorful nightlife and entertainment venues. There are several New Orleans hotels near Bourbon Street, spread around the French Quarter with its distinctive Creole architecture.

To the south is Jackson Square, dominated by St. Louis Cathedral. Horses and carts wait patiently by the square, and locals set up their stools and start playing catchy tunes. Just behind is the legendary Mississippi River whose waters are still plied by paddle steamers.

From the river you get great views of the CBD (downtown) skyscrapers and the Louisiana Superdome. Booking.com has several hotels nearby, including some on Canal Street, where streetcars and the famous New Orleans Mardi Gras carnival pass down.

In the northern suburbs is New Orleans City Park, one of the oldest US parks and larger than NYC’s Central Park. Waterways lining it flow into large Lake Pontchartrain bordered by a bayou.

I love the city of New Orleans.

I love the city of New Orleans. The people are friendly, and the music is great. Then don't let me forget to mention the food. Everything was good even Panda Express taste better than mine from back home (Tennessee) lol. I didn't feel uneasy there of course I was watching my surroundings when out. In my opinion it's not as bad as people make it seem. I'm a single female who traveled solo to meet some friends. I felt just fine walking around by myself before I met up with everyone else.

Do the ghost tour & swamp tour. Listen to the locals when they tell you were the best places to eat specific food is. They're always 10/10. I would come back just to do brunch at Ruby Slipper again. The people of New Orleans are the salt of the earth and their kindness is infectious even to us often cold northerners.

The hotels location was absolutely incredible could not have asked for a better place in that regard the ambience and character were wonderful. It is an older hotel. That is well taken care of with a wonderful interior courtyard. The staff was amazing and overall, I really liked it and would go back myself. One other thing they have parking about a two minute walk from the hotel, which is a real plus. The only issue we had was there was no elevator at this hotel, and it was not prominently announced when you reviewed it on the website. I was traveling with a family member with severe COPD and we had to traverse three flights of stairs to get to our room. I had sprained my ankle several days before on our trip and it was a severe sprain and getting up and down those stairs was very difficult. If you have any issues with breathing or mobility, this is not a place for you otherwise I would recommend it wholeheartedly.

New Orleans.... We love the city!

New Orleans.... We love the city! Coming here for years and it's the first city we visited before we continue traveling. The live music, the bars, the food, the people, the scenery it's great! It's a city where both old and young can enjoy themselves. This has to be on your bucket list!

We stayed in the French Quater, which was perfect. I really enjoyed the steam boat trip and the Oak Alley plantation. We did do the plantation ourselves and the Steam Boat as it is cheaper to do online.

NOLA comes with superb french district night-out.

NOLA comes with superb french district night-out. Restaurants and clubs are chock-full with jazz bands all night long. Prices aren't economical, but it's worth spending few nights in the vintage district as it is like taking a journey to the past with timeless architectural features. Don't miss out a daily tour in the swamp just reasonable miles off the city or a plantation tour. Both come with impressive natural flora and fauna as well as awareness of recent history raising plenty of questions.

(Senate) Front of house service was exceptional! His knowledge of New Orleans French Quarter was on point. My wife and I found his tips and recommendations extremely helpful during our stay while we were on holidays from Australia in September. If only more front of house managers were like him. The property was tidy and felt very welcoming. The cleanliness of our room was very pleasant. The outdoor garden area is a great addition to be able to unwind after spending a busy day on the streets of New Orleans.

WG Creole House is an absolutely wonderful place to stay: beautifully appointed, meticulously clean, and conveniently located, within walking distance of downtown, the convention center, Canal Street, and the French Quarter. Melissa is a wonderfully friendly innkeeper who is passionate about her city and wants all her guests to experience the best of New Orleans, including experiences and dining to be had off the beaten path. This place will be our go-to for all future visits to the Crescent City!

You will definitely feel safe. Great staff managed the desk so we could come and go all night. It's in the old French Quarter so the decor matches, in this part of the city the historical society blocks hotels like this one from updating too much. So your bathroom facilities may look a little dated your room is the size they were in the 1800s. I LOVE it!!! We come to the city to play and enjoy the old feel of staying in the old French Quarter this place is just what we love about New Orleans

Amazing mattresses and the pillows are awesome...very comfy sleep! The location is great because it's on the fringe of the French Quarter -- we walked there and back -- and a quick cab ride to Garden District. Great restaurants are nearby (walking distance) as well. Love their Peanut Butter & Jelly sandwich tradition everyday between 4PM - 5PM. Charming and Old World hotel. When you walk in the lobby, it feels like you're in a European grand hotel.

Andy at the front desk is fabulous. She is full of information in adventures as well as the history of the house and New Orleans. The location was excellent. 1 block from cable cars in between the Garden District and French Quarters. Food nearby & a drug store. The main house was nice. The parking is a lot right next door, which makes it easy. The lot is light up at night with a security camera.

The location is absolutely perfect, it is on a quiet street, 50 meters away from Bourbon street so you have everything on the French Quarter at a walking distance, even Frenchmen Street. The location is the best positive thing on the Hotel. Besides that, the hotel is super nice and it has good facilities, nice pool, nice play to have breakfast and a great bar on the corner with live music.

Location is perfect for those who want to explore the French Quarter. The hotel is located on Bourbon street - the heart of the area, but in our room there was no slightest sign of noise from the outside. It is also located literally steps away from the most of good restaurants and caffees and Jackson Square and ferry. Staff is very friendly. Pool is amazing in warm days.

The location was great, in between the French Quarter (for historic and typical tourist wanderings) and the Warehouse District (a great jump point to explore that area as well as the Garden Districts). The hotel itself was good. It was very clean, the bed was comfortable, and the rooms spacious. Front desk staff was nice, and they printed out our train tickets for us.

Staff excellent, very helpful. Hotel is a short walk from French Quarter and convention area, where my events were. Quiet room, good facility for getting work done in room, convenient parking just across street. This is a superb hotel for someone who wants access to all that New Orleans has but does not want to be right in the middle of it.

I don’t think we could have chosen better location. Three blocks from the Bourbon Street this hotel provides excellent base for exploring French Quarter or Garden District by the St. Charles streetcar. In the very city center it provides a quiet shelter from the hassle of Bourbon street. Highly recommended.

The hotel is perfect location in the French quarter. Even though it’s complete chaos outside of the hotel with the nightlife of New Orleans, inside the hotel is always peaceful and relaxing. I didn’t hear anyone in the rooms around mine the entire stay. Even the doors shut quietly which is rare for a hotel.
