The downtown is very nice and walkable, and I liked the Robert Louis Stevenson museum. It's also close to Calistoga and the famous hot springs. The weather is great and if you enjoy wine, the choices are endless!

Cute little town.
Cute little town. If wine is your thing, this is the place to be. However, if you are willing to explore a bit more, there is the Robert Louis Stevenson/Silverado Museum within walking distance of the downtown area. And, just a short drive to Calistoga, there is the Petrified Forest. Amazing! I had no idea, California had it’s own Petrified Forest. They have a small park in town that puts on events. The night I checked in, they had a community potluck with live music! I had already had dinner at one of the in town restaurants, but I shamelessly had my desert in the park & enjoyed the jazz/blues trio playing. Enjoyable 2-day stay!

St Helena is a little cheaper to stay in than Napa or Sonoma and, I would argue, offers something a bit different - you can stay right amongst the vineyards and it has some of the best restaurants in Napa Valley right on your doorstep. Farmstead is the standout choice just outside of the town centre, but Charter Oak next door also gets rave reviews and there are more restaurants like Market and Cooks in St Helena itself that come highly recommended. And for quicker options, the bruschetta truck at Clif Family Tasting Rooms is fantastic and Gott’s Roadside is great for a burger and milkshake in between your wine tours. On the vineyards themselves, there are obviously more to choose from than I could mention, but I would highly recommend Hall Wines with its large sculptured “Bunny Foo-Foo” out front - it is a very modern vineyard which mixes great wine and great art to fantastic effect.

“Basswood Bar and Kitchen!!” By far . . .
“Basswood Bar and Kitchen!!” By far . . . Some of the best food we’ve had the pleasure of savoring!! Chef David Nuno can’t be beat!! (Try the mozzarella cheese bread!!) Yum!!
We also had a great dining experience at the “Goose and Gander!” Ambiance on the outdoor patio at night is so romantic!
Finally . . . Best breakfast ever at “Gillwoods”on Main Street - just north of Spring Street. Great variations on Eggs Benedict!! Plus great scrambles, waffles, and pancakes with lots of fruit!! Yum!!
The Wine Country Inn is a cute little in that if you have a car is a good location in St. Helena. Location to lots of mountain wineries was great, very close to town but not walking distance necessarily but you could if you wanted to risk walking on 29. The pool and spa and small but fine. Our vineyard view wasn't really a vineyard view as the garden was a bit overgrown but still a nice view. The breakfast which is included wasn't huge but plentiful. Fresh cucumber or lemon water all day.
It was pristine and our room was spacious. It’s amazing what some charming hand painted decor can do for a basic motel type property. There was a sweet picnic area with a fire pit (strangely burning on a 97-degree afternoon), and a little fountain off the breakfast area. Breakfast included cereal and pastries, enough to start the day. All of the staff was helpful and friendly.
A great value for Napa.
The location of the Wydown on Main Street is excellent. We walked to dinner, lunch and shopping on the days we were in St Helena. The parking was free and convenient. Coffee and breakfast pastries were available at 7:30 am each day. My husband and I have different morning routines, it was was great to have coffee and a newspaper prior to leaving the hotel each morning.
There is nothing you can fault about then hotel. Great location, walking distance to the bars & restaurants (Market & Farmstead) and excellent pickup point for the vineyard tours.
Sabrina - Love your homemade cookies every night and remember us Sikhs, we do not pray to any direction. Scouts or not!!!
Beke & Paolo - Muchas Gracias Senoritas for the wonderful breakfast♥️
the hotel is super beautiful, only 12 rooms! the service is exceptional and the breakfast buffet is so cute. my only suggestion that it could be self service for coffee/tea at least.
you also get access to the Health Valley Spa centre, which is only 4 blocks away and has a huge pool!
the hotel is next to Safeway where you can purchase very good value wines!!!
Location was fantastic. St Helena is our favorite town in the Napa Valley, and Southbridge's location is the best location within St Helena. The team at Southbridge are apparently very knowledgeable re dinner and winery venues; in particular, several of Daniel's recommendations MADE our trip particularly enjoyable.
Amazing place and amazing host. Easy to book, clean and comfortable room, very close to the busy happenings in Napa valley but just far enough away to have a feeling of seclusion and privacy. Wonderful communication with host.
The location is easy to get to and very central, and the beds are very comfortable. We had a nice view of Salvestin's vineyard. The breakfast room was charming and the food was good and fresh. Very cute and charming hotel.
the hotel doenn’t have a staff enough!!! we stay one day all outside and nobody change our room! eh en We arrived just a woman want ed our card for payment and doesn’t explano any THINGS or show us the hotel…
Nicki at Harvest Table, Christine at Front Desk, all the staff...just wonderful. I don't think I've ever felt so welcome at a hotel before. Food at Harvest Table was excellent.
The room was the best. It was only the stairs that were tough with the luggage. The only thing you can do is have someone available to help people get luggage up the stairs.
Room was very comfortable. Enjoyed the fireplace. Bed was excellent. Nice to have separate sink/mirror outside of bathroom for my wife. Excellent location in St. Helena.
Exceptional level of service, facilities, was impressed by a fireplace at the balcony.
In my opinion, it is a Maldives-level hotel with perfect views and ambience.
Absolutely amazing hotel with a view on vineyards. The area is very quiet and St Helena is easily reachable by foot - with big offering of restaurants and vineries.
