Located next to Chinatown, this hotel is 3 km from San Francisco Art Institute. It boasts a rooftop garden and patio, and offers free WiFi. The location of this hotel couldn't be more central for most of the ground transport connections, great shopping, dining options, sight-seeing and places within walking distance. You are close to Union Square, China Town, the cable car runs and we even walked to Fishermans' Wharf - but beware the hills! All of the staff were incredibly friendly without being intrusive, although they really seemed interested in what we were doing and happily offered useful advice and tips that only locals would know. The room was very large, it was quiet and the bed was one of the most comfortable hotel beds I've ever slept in. We really appreciated the eco focus of the hotel and the extra steps it took to maintain those credentials. I would 100% recommend this hotel and cannot understand the negative reviews based on the 5 nights we stayed here.

Great hotel with wonderful staff. Also, it is in a good location in Chinatown with buses nearby and a 12 walk to the train station. It was super clean and well organized.

Located in the heart of San Francisco’s North Beach Little Italy District, Hotel North Beach offers free WiFi in the public areas. Each guest room includes a cable TV. Excellent. What a budget hotel should be. Staff was great, all 4 of them, even the security guy was nice. Room was clean, bathroom was clean despite of being shared. Great location. they kept my bags locked safely before and after check in and out for no extra charge.
